I breathe a sigh of relief, he’s in custody again

Finally the temps have dropped and it’s cooler in the early mornings. Something about the crisp cool air makes me want to get moving and be outside in it. I used to spend a lot more time in my yard, walking the trails, sitting at the firepit. Then I let myself get derailed for a few years when a troubled friend began showing up uninvited. A former neighbor, he knew my habit of meandering in my woods at all hours. He doesn’t recognize boundaries, so he’d walk right in. Then he moved a mile away and I’d see him walking Emerson Road 3 blocks over, looking wasted. Each time, I’d stay inside for a few days after, just in case. It became habit to stop hanging in the yard, not knowing when he’d show up or was even there, unseen. Whenever I went outside I’d wonder if he was lurking like the old days. I got used to living back inside the house and missed the joy of being outside at all hours. A self imposed exile since I couldn’t get it out of my thoughts. Continue reading

Past Lives in Astrology

There is so much that can be told from your astrology chart. Besides everything you would ever need to know to have the best life possible, it can show your karma and past lives. Basically, your horoscope is divided into 12 equal segments, called “houses.” Each house represents a department of life, such as self-image and will, money and security, friends and communication, home and family, health and duty, partners and committed relationships, secrets, travel and education plus spiritual attitudes, public image and highest goals, friends and social life, karma and hidden things.

The 1st house shows your ascendant and it is the basis of the chart reading for this life. However, if the wheel is turned one house down, the 12th becomes the 1st house for a past life, not necessarily the immediate past, but one that you are working out issues from now.

Andrea’s experiences with hurricanes and tropical storms

When they say a storm is 500 miles wide and 185 mph, that doesn’t mean the entire storm is moving 185 mph. Example:
Hurricane Irma in Sept 2017, the eye was 60 miles in diameter. A FEW MILES OUTSIDE of that is where the 185 mph winds are. NOT all 500 miles.  Hurricane Irma downgraded below a Cat 1 as she crossed land — as they do — here in Melbourne/Palm Bay we got 60 mph winds and 90 mph gusts. Florida is only 160 miles wide so we all got high winds for the maybe 12 hours it took her to pass.
I’ve lived in Florida all my life and I’ve been through several hurricanes and tropical storms. It’s easy to get caught up in the news hype about approaching storms, so I like to have a reminder here on my blog of the notable storms I most recently recall. My worst experience: Continue reading

Don’t Fuel It, Cool It with Jamie Coulston

Jamie Coulston

Feel free to share. I love it when a handsome man gets me OUT of bed! I came across Jamie Coulson‘s comment about anxiety and depression and found his FB group Don’t Fuel It, Cool It, about managing post traumatic stress. He’s allowing me to reprint from his writing, here is a preview. And if you’re interested in helping friends manage anxiety, check out his group. “I’m not a therapist,” he says, but he’s helped me already.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/857631804381403/

I found where the yellow jackets moved their nest

Watering the yard this morning, I stepped into the east garden. A chair that hadn’t been used since the hot steamy summer came on sat under the pine, its seat covered in pine needles. I moved the chair and was immediately charged by the yellow jacket nest underneath it that I disturbed. I ran up the path brushing them off my dress and shaking my head to get them out of my hair. I felt several bites: side, hand, under arm (wtf??) and fingers. I could feel them tangled in my hair. I ran across the driveway and pulled my dress off before I came in the door.  I didn’t want to bring them inside. Thankfully the roommate was on a walk as I dashed in the door and jumped in the shower. I got one final bite from one that came in on my hair, which is how I identified it as a yellow jacket.  I’ve learned 2 Benadryl will stop any reaction for me.

Now to research Wasp Medicine and see what the message is for me. I like Morningstar’s interpretation at https://morningstar.netfirms.com/waspmedicine.html
