Journal your feelings to resolve issues when the other is not there

cat journallingWhen you have unresolved emotional issues with loved ones you can’t discuss it with, you can still find resolution. Whether you aren’t speaking because they won’t, or maybe their whereabouts are unknown or they’ve passed, you can still find peace. When you journal your feelings, you come to a deeper understand than if you were just thinking or speaking about the situation. When you journal, the process of putting it into words helps your brain organize the info so you can figure out what’s wrong and why it bothers you. When you understand it, that is when the issue begins resolving. Even if you never talk to that person again. Writing down what you think the problem is, and how the problem makes you feel, is an important first step.

I created it for the fun of it and was rewarded with dollars

daydreaming $Some say I’m a lousy business person because, except for a few months a decade ago, in 23 years no one sells ads for me. The most I make ad calls is never, but a few times a year I’ll create an ad out of the blue on a whim. I woke up this morning thinking of a particular business who has never advertised with me, ever. I checked out their website. It related to an article I’ll publish next month, so I created an ad for them just for the fun of it. I emailed it with a note and within hours, they purchased my last minute full page ad space. An hour later, a former advertiser emailed me for a copy of her paid 2014 invoice. When I sent it to her, I included a note and a new little ad I created. She booked the ad for six months! In the afternoon, a galpal asked for a copy of her unpaid invoice, which I’d forgotten was outstanding. She not only paid, she wants an ad for the April Horizons.  My intent and attitude all week has been, “I wonder what exciting new person might call for an ad,” and “I wonder from what unexpected source today’s dollars will come?”  I do that on purpose when I am up on my publishing deadline and have ad space to fill. I take stock of what space I have available and translate that into a dollar amount, then I set my intention to bring in that amount by deadline.  On these deadline days, I make a point to ask myself several times an hour, “I wonder what exciting new person might call for an ad,” and “I wonder from what unexpected source today’s dollars will come?” I ponder for a few moments the last time unexpected dollars came to me, and how cool it feels when new advertisers find me. I bask in the good feeling of the memory for a few moments and remind myself I can feel that again, I can have that feeling again of new people and dollars flowing. Then I go back to working on what is fun to do. I’ve learned that when I create something just for the fun of it, I’m rewarded with dollars whether I “work” for them or not.

When the crickets stop, you know something is afoot

Meandering outside in my newly cleared woods, I realize that since I cleared away the dried leaves and underbrush, I have fewer signals as to where the forest creatures are walking. It’s especially weird when all the crickets stop at once and you know someone has just entered the space, but no clue who or where. And I see after the clearing, I have to lessen the sensitivity on the motion detectors now or be bathed in spotlight for the neighborhood’s entertainment.

I am loving the Teeccino Herbal Coffees

Teeccino JavaI forgot I had someTeeccino samplers here, I’ve been drinking the Java blend shown here, loved it so much I just ordered several. This one and the hazelnut taste remarkably like coffee, but without the acid. Plus, I don’t need sweetener since it’s sweetened by dates and figs. It tastes quite extravagant. You can read about them here, http://teeccino.com/…/33/About-Teeccino-Herbal-Coffee.html and the Vitacost price is better.  I’ve been wanting to have a cup of coffee a few times a day and to avoid the caffeine and acid, I drink Kaffree Roma half the time, an instant roasted grain beverage that mimics coffee for me. The Teeccino has that beat hands down, a full rich flavor and no sweetening needed for me

Yoga Bodies Come In All Shapes and Sizes

If you don’t think you have the kind of body that does yoga, thank again. I taught yoga in my 30’s and 40’s, even the years I was 50-70 lbs overweight. Yoga makes you strong, yoga lubes your joints, yoga creates the physical and mental space to allow alignment to come into your body, breath and mind. Yoga is part of my daily sadhana, my daily spiritual practice the past 40 years.  Check out these 19 Badass Instagrammers Who Prove Yoga Bodies Come In All Shapes And Sizes–>  http://www.buzzfeed.com/carolynkylstra/curvy-yoga

Why do some attract kindness and others attract aggravation?

expect-the-miracleIt’s been a fun and productive week. I’ve gone to the gym every day, as well as working out at home. I began clearing the underbrush of my woods, a major raking job. My arms and shoulders are getting strong! I’m ready for change, which is one reason I cut a new trail each season. I mused that clearing a path is like clearing any path in life: you get a glimpse down a different road and want to explore it a little. On your way to do that, you have to brush your way past old, dried debris. I find whenever I clear out a new space, new things start happening. I feel freer, more expansive and capable of more. And the more I cleared, the more everything in other parts of my life seemed to fall into place as well. This morning I lucked into two friends with a chainsaw and they cut and stacked two dozen bamboo for me. I seem to “luck into” a lot of good situations, a friend remarked the other day. But it’s not luck at all. It’s that I have an optimistic and hopeful attitude and believe it’s possible for the best to happen to me. She’s “more practical,” she says, and is always on the look out for what to avoid. She anticipates getting a cold each season and she gets one. She anticipates the driver cutting her off, and the drive-thru getting her order wrong. We spent a few hours recently side by side at the same event and had two completely different experiences. It all boils down to what we expect from life and what we believe is possible for us.  Continue reading

Don’t plan on my sleeping habits to change or stay the same

Sleep restful by pinoIt’s deja vu all over again. Loved ones know that 4:00-9:00pm is my sleeping time. If I’m up then, I’m in a sleep fog and conversation is futile. I may not remember and I’ve told you this.  Calling to chide me for not being up — yet again — confuses me. Don’t count on me EVER being awake and coherent at this hour but the times I am, enjoy it in the moment. Don’t give me sh*t about it. This schedule works for me. What doesn’t work for me is having to repeatedly be in conversation when I’m half asleep about me being half asleep when you want me to be up playing. I don’t give you sh*t for not coming to play at 5:00am every day when I’m ready. Ok, as you were. <steps down off soapbox>

When it’s right and meant to be, it’s easy

When it's right, it's easy

When it’s right, it’s easy

Have you been overlooking your primary gift or talent?  How do you know?  You know if you’ve been working hard at something that is not taking off for you.  You know when, despite being excited about something, you can never seem to make money at it.  When you begin fulfilling your soul’s purpose, it will become easy to attract the people who want what you have to offer.  You don’t have to pound the pavement or try to push your product or service at everyone who passes. They’ll recognize the value, they’ll see the talent and they’ll want some of it. If you’re doing what you love to do and not earning a living from it, that is simply because there is another talent you’re overlooking.  You’re not seeing the bigger picture. If you can do what you love to do, whether money is involved or not, the dollars will come from somewhere.  Don’t worry about where the dollars come from.  If you notice the dollars haven’t shown up yet and notice how unsupportive people are, you are looking for the wrong people to support your vision.  They are not your market.  You are barking up the wrong target audience. You want the ones who want what you have to offer.  The ones you want to be selling to and are not — clearly you are not a vibrational match to them right now.  When it’s right, when it’s meant to be, it’s easy. There’s no struggle.  You can either find your other talent, or you can change your perception to vibrate in resonance with those who ARE grateful and DO support your vision and WANT what you have to offer. Then it’ll begin to flow.  Then it will be easy.

You are the only one who determines how long it will go on

arguingI just had a phone session with a long time friend. She’s once again broken up with her mate over lies and empty promises.  “I’ll get a divorce and we’ll get married” he tells her, yet he never does. “How much longer is this going to go on?” she asked. An elder friend said it best — when the f*cking you’re getting is no longer worth the f*cking you’re getting, you’ll stop. I never understood the dramatic, emotional back and forth.  At the first blow up, you can count me out.  I used to not understand why you’d stay with someone who lied, wasn’t responsible and couldn’t make peace with the past. We stay with those who feel familiar to us. They may not “be good” for us, it may not be in our best interest, but they are familiar.
