“It’s in the Bible” has not been a valid defense for thousands of years

Some pals were irked I’m still using links to Doreen Virtue’s Clearing and Balancing the Chakras from Doreen Virtue’s “The Lightworker’s Way” since she denounced new age stuff. Helpful work speaks for itself. It doesn’t matter if she now denounces her previous work as “unbiblical” and “of the devil.” That’s just where she is in her journey right now. Being unbiblical is not a bad thing since “the bible” was written by man so it tells how  our religious ancestors saw things, and it has been edited and revised by political rulers for thousands of years. What may have begun as what someone interpreted as “the word of God” has gone thru so many translations (think: telephone game) and revisions that it’s hard to find the word of God in it. So when someone’s defense is “it’s in the Bible,” that just means the speaker believes that is the final word of God. Just know where they’re coming from.

The Bible is a human product. It tells us how our religious ancestors saw things, not how God sees things. Marcus Borg
