Tulpamancy, Creative Visualization and Deactivating a Thoughtform

thought-formsI’ve been asked the difference between creative visualization and tulpamancy. Tulpamancers are a new online subculture wherein “sentient beings are imagined into existence using meditation-style exercises.”  I can’t suggest an info site since the ones I’ve seen give a lot of mis-information. Here’s  what Google search shows  When you’re working in the subjective arena – working inside your mind via meditation and internal visualizations – it’s easy to get distracted. It’s also possible to attract things you find hard to handle.  Tulpa is a concept in Tibetan mysticism of a being or object which is created through sheer spiritual or mental discipline alone. It is defined as any mind created apparition. It is a materialized thought that has taken physical form and is synonymous to a thoughtform.

Being a practicing student of mysticism and creat-ive visualization for 30 years, it’s easy to spot a novice teacher. Having seen it from both student and teacher perspective thousands of times, I know what someone believes and understands by what they say. This isn’t to shame the rookie — many who are called to teach speak before they fully know.  I know I did and continue to do so.  This is to say that the more practical experience you have, the more you come to know a greater reality. I’ve had enough in-person FAQ in the last thirty years that I have seen definite patterns in questions, answers and in problems and response to specific techniques.

A thoughtform can be tapped into by anyone and it takes on a life of its own

Some Tulpa teachers online caution the importance of controlling your tulpa.  This shows they do not understand the nature of a tulpa. A tulpa is a thoughtform. It doesn’t matter if you create it with a specific purpose in mind. A thoughtform can be tapped into by anyone in vibrational proximity. It can be modified by everyone else’s thoughts and it takes on a life of its own.

How to Deactivate the Thoughtform

The same with deactivating the thoughtform. The reason you want to deactivate a thoughtform is to modify your experience relative to the thoughtform. The only way you can deactivate something is by withdrawing your attention from it. As long as it has your attention, it’s activated.

What you can do is modify the thoughtform as it pertains to you by giving it different kind of attention. Develop and hold a strong vision of where you want to be and what you want to achieve and allow your new focus to create a new thoughtform.  Then give your attention to it.  That is how to deactivate a thoughtform (as it pertains to you) –> give your attention to another thought.
