My transits today 4-4-11 for DOB 4-10-52 Miami, FL 6:20am

I love playing with astrology and each year before my birthday I make time to study my chart to see how the current planetary transits might be affecting me.  Right now there is a stellium of planets in Aries, right on top of my natal planets.  Like 6 little gang members stomping into my quiet, secret 12th house, Uranus and Mars are at 1 degree Aries, Sun at 14, Jupiter at 15, Moon at 21 and Mercury at 23.  They are right next to my Venus at 0 Aries, Mercury at 11, Sun at 20, Ascendant at 25, Jupiter at 25.  They all oppose my Libra planets Moon 21, Saturn 20, Neptune 20 in 6th house, where I see Saturn is right now at 13 degrees.  Whoa say the non-astrologers — what does that all mean?  For me, born April 10, 1952, it means there is a lot of subsconscious activity, a lot of activity brewing behind the scenes, and a whole lot of thinking going on.

I went out to the beach before sunrise again this morning.  I really enjoy sitting at the beach watching the night sky.  I get a real expansive feeling and it’s easy to leave worldly thoughts behind.  Last night was a conjunction of Venus, Saturn, Mars and the moon, and the Perseid meteor shower this morning. Sitting and watching the stars, I thought how the planets moving around the sky are like our friends moving around us.  We are affected by coming in contact with the planets just as we are affected by the personalities of our friends.  Mars (or Jane) comes in and we feel energized, we feel motivated to action.  Venus (or Sharon) comes by making an aspect, and we feel appreciation, we are agreeable and cooperative.  Mercury (or Larry) comes in and communication occurs, we are objective and rational.  If combined with Mars, we are able to formulate and communicate our ideas.  If Venus is making aspects, we are able, or unable to appreciate the value and beauty of the idea.  If one planet moves away, it lessens the effect on the other planets as well, just as if a friend had left the meeting and his influence fades.  Interesting.

In medical astrology, Mercury is the natural ruler of the nervous system. Its position in your horoscope is a significant indicator of the health and resilience of your nervous system and how you will cope with stress. The nervous system carries info regarding the condition of the body to the brain. It then processes it and carries back instructions from the brain to the rest of the body regarding function. Mercury oversees the sifting and synthesis of information, and is the common linking factor between the systems of the body. The mechanism of breathing is also ruled by Mercury.  Mercury disorders are the nervous disorders, both physical and mental, from neurological disorders where disease affects the brain and nervous system disturbing its normal function, to situations where the ill health is more of a mental nature, disrupting the nervous state of the individual.  Neurological disorders range from vertigo, convulsions, paralysis, sciatica, Parkinson’s and respiratory complaints. Nervous disorders tend toward communication and learning problems as well as to anxiety and nervousness. Obviously, Mercury being the planet of connections, there is frequently an overlap between nervous and neurological disturbances.

According to many astrologers, planets which were retrograde at the time of our birth indicate karmic lessons we’ve brought into this life.  Some say they’re an indication of latent genius in areas pertaining to the planet and sign in which the retrograde occurs, and which manifests later in life; still others, that those with retrograde planets are here to increase consciousness and create change on a global scale.  Others claim that those with retrograde planets in their natal charts are seldom seen as they actually are. In other words, their full and true potential is hidden, and that there is often much more to an individual with planets in retrograde than can be readily seen.  Because they are karmic in nature, this is an indication of a past life influence.  When a planet is retrograde in your natal chart, you will have some challenges in that area until the planet goes direct in your progressed chart.
