I love to rearrange my furniture often. I like to keep the energy flowing. When the energy flows, so so my best ideas. I moved everything in my office today to face southeast. The view now is overlooking the birdbath in the courtyard, and I no longer have my face to the corner and have to swivel to look out the window. Now I have a clear view of everything in the office. I’m at Command Central. All cords are untangled, nothing is on top of anything, n0thing is crowded, there is more space between the molecules. I feel more in control of everything, now that I am facing it. Isn’t that always the way?
I know that things like changing my surroundings keep my brain active. Doing crossword puzzles do the same thing. I know that re-routing my neural pathways helps keep my mind young and flexible. Neuron pathways are the channels through which information travels between the brain and body, and they can be trained and used to perform actions like chores of daily living, sports and emotional expression. I test myself so that when I need patience, I will have learned it ahead of time. When I need to be flexible and open minded, I will have practiced stretching my mind, so it’s elastic enough to snap back and not break down. If I’m going to live to a happy, healthy, active 120, I want my brain to be flexible enough to enjoy it.
