A friend is all up in arms over what so and so said. When people kinda stalk you and kinda talk about you unkindly, don’t let it bother you. Ignore it. Don’t even react. You don’t even know it’s happening. Your life is your message. It will pass soon enough. Add no fuel to the flame. Just get on with your own good life and pay no mind to anyone who doesn’t want to be part of it. My 88 year old aunt gets panic attacks watching hurricane updates. We’ve not had one since 2004 but she makes herself a basket case glued to the tv, running the ugly “what ifs” through her head. It gets exhausting when it becomes the main daily topic. You stop it by simply turning off the tv. Stop watching the movie that is driving you crazy, whatever it is. Take your attention off the chaos and it will drop out of your life. And if a hurricane is really coming, you’ll know in plenty of time to prepare yourself. Until then, get on with your happy life.

Two people, two experiences: not always on the same page
A friend was confused that someone was openly giving her a hateful stare-down in church. I told her that anyone who can muster that much anger first thing Sunday morning and feels the need to openly display it needs to be left alone. I reminded her, as Rev. Beth said at Unity of Melbourne yesterday from The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz: don’t take anything personally, don’t make assumptions. The funny thing, my friend said, was that their argument was months ago and she didn’t even know he was still irked. They’d had no contact, so she figured it was over and done. No one can weave with you a bond of discord if you contribute no strands to the weaving. Here one party had been feeding off their own anger for months yet the other was unaware of it and unaffected by it. My brother was banished by our dad at age 18 and stayed away for 37 years thinking the entire family was mad at him. He didn’t know our dad told the family he’d died in 1966. Our dad was troubled, bipolar and alcoholic. Continue reading

Rest in Peace Hardee S. Henderson, III
Rest in peace, old friend. In 1992, Hardee was the last attorney I worked for before doing what I do now. Hardee could be a very kind and generous man, and his personality was bigger than life. He was beloved by many. He gave me courage to morph from a 22 year career as a criminal defense paralegal into doing my own thing. We’ll meet again, my friend. Thank you for everything you added to my life. July 15, 1952 – May 30, 2013. Florida Today obituary here. MS Obituary here. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 14 at 12pm, at the chapel at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy’s Upper School (5625 Holy Trinity Drive, Melbourne). In lieu of flowers, please send donations to To Write Love On Her Arms (twloha.com).

Bury St. Joseph to Sell Your Home
St Joseph is known to the world as best real estate agent ever – since hundreds of years he has been helping people to sell their homes. Where should you bury a statue of St Joseph? According to tradition if you really want to sell your home quickly you should bury a statue of St. Joseph upside down in the yard of your home. Praying to St. Joseph for a quick sale and burying a statue of him is said to always bring a fast offer on the home. Realtors and homeowners swear that this legend is true and that if you do bury a statue of St. Joseph while praying for a quick sale that your prayers will be answered.
But make sure that you bury that statue of St. Joseph in the right spot. If you don’t bury the statue in the right spot then you might end up helping the neighbors across the street sell their home before yours or you might end up helping a person on the street behind you sell a home. Where you put that statue of St. Joseph can make a big difference in how quickly the home sells. The tradition of burying a statue of St. Joseph in the yard of a home that you’re trying to sell goes back thousands of years. It is believed that because St. Joseph is the patron saint of home and family, if you pray to him for help when you’re selling your home and you bury a statue of him on the property he will help you by sending buyers to the home so that you will get a quick offer on the home. Time and time again people that are trying to sell their homes have turned to St. Joseph for help and thousands of people that have successfully sold homes are convinced that St. Joseph answered their prayers and helped sell the home. We train people how to treat us
We train people how to treat us by how we act and react with them, and by what we allow them to get away with. Family, friends, coworkers, everyone. How do yours treat you and when will enough be enough?
This is transformation
When it’s really dark, do something that brings in light. Even if it feels like it’s not working, do it anyway. Do it long and hard, if necessary. Call in God’s Light. Chant “Love, Peace and Harmony”. Chant, “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” Thank the Divine for the darkness and the opportunity to transform it. Thank all souls involved. Bless them. Ask for forgiveness. Give forgiveness. Love them. Love yourself. Love the Divine. The light will break through. And the heart cracks open. The mind releases its grip. Peace comes. Truth comes. Gratitude abounds. This is transformation. Marsha Valutis
