I have self hypnosis audio files, mp3s and cds I’ve created and, while I don’t actively try to sell them, I have them at the old website. So when all of a sudden I have a few dozen downloads out of nowhere, I always wonder how they found me and why they came in a clump. The most recent clump came for my Sleepytime Recharge, and it’s the second best seller. The feedback includes “I really appreciate your cds. They came at the right time and they are very good. They are making a major change in how I view my life and I wanted to say thank you.” and “I used to think I had chronic fatigue or was depressed, but I think now it was all related to my habit of thinking. Thank you for helping me change that.” And “I have more energy now, more clarity and feel motivated because of the suggestions on your cds. Your voice sounds just like I thought it would, like an angel. It is so soothing and comforting to hear your words in your voice and know a difference is being made in my life. Thank you for making life good again.” Wow.
I remembered back in the 70’s when I first read about using self hypnosis to change behavior, eating, smoking and I sent off for a set of tapes I saw advertised in Cosmopolitan magazine. At first it sounded silly to me, him talking all slow and exaggerated. But as I read about how hypnosis helps you, through repetition, to engrain thoughts and beliefs you would like to adopt, I became more interested and studied it even more. And I began to listen to the tapes with a different mindset. And they worked like magic.
Through the years, I wrote several scripts and recorded cds for myself and for clients. Like when Marge needed to find some good feeling thoughts about her mother in law since she just moved in. I did a cd for her to begin seeing it in a new way, as an ally rather than a foe, as someone to create a happy home with and find the fun in each other. “After playing your cd over and over,” Marge later wrote me, “I was surprised to find I WAS seeing her in a new way, I WAS seeing her as an interesting companion and I WAS looking for the fun in her and finding it.”
I guess, when you come down to it, all that my cds do is give you about 25 minutes of awake or asleep listening time that helps your mind, conscious and unconscious, begin to look for certain things and to see things in a hopeful way. Pretty soon you take the training wheels off and don’t need the cd, because you automatically begin to look for the good, the shiny, the bright in everything.
At the Sleepytime Recharge page for What to Expect From The Experience, it says: Play this recording as you are falling asleep for a refreshing segment of restful sleep and rejuvenation. Even when you fall asleep, your subconscious mind is still listening, so you can still expect change to occur. In case of emergency, you will wake right up. Even under deep trance, you are still in control. Know that while listening, you could open your eyes and rouse yourself immediately if you need to.
Before working with this recording, have an expectation of success. If you are skeptical of the process, or skeptical that it could work for you, that is ok. A fish doesn’t have to believe in the ocean. However, at least for the period of time you are working with the cd, set aside all doubt and let go of all resistance. Allow your creative imagination to run free as you create vivid images in response to any words you may hear before you fall asleep.
We’ve learned that the health and well being of our physical body is a direct result of the thoughts we habitually think and our inner response to the words we hear others speak. The cells of our body process information and control our behavior by way of genes being turned on and off by influences outside us, such as our perceptions and beliefs. Our beliefs, true or false, positive or negative, affect our genetic activity and alter our genetic code.
We can retrain our consciousness to create healthy beliefs, and thus create a profoundly positive effect on our bodies and in our lives. We can identify where our glitches are and not only regulate our own brain chemistry to overcome ailments and bad habits, we can reprogram ourselves and reformat our lives for more joy. Our body is a community of 50 trillion living cells, all cooperating as a collective amoebic consciousness, and we speak to it and direct it every time we have a thought or reaction. The body is a biochemical machine and the driver is the mind. So dis-ease is merely a result of how we’re driving our physiology. Even now, 30 years later, I still listen to my own cds when I need a jumpstart to get back into a certain mindset. Some day I will make time to re-record them all in professional quality and make them available online. I’ve been saying that for ten years.
In the meantime, I always find it helpful to flood my mind with whatever I am wanting to do. That helps me vibrate there, and that helps me attract the results. I figure each listen is a 25 minute session of helping attracting what I want into my life.
And the results? Predictable and priceless.
