Doesn’t matter if it’s true: telling a whiney story doesn’t help you

Yesterday I was speaking with a friend and began to tell a story of an email I’d received from someone.  The writer was quoting inaccurate source materials, that is, she was complaining yet talking about something she had no experience of, as she was just repeating what other writers said.  When I mentioned the phrase “the conservative media,” my friend on the phone launched into asking me who I considered the conservative media and that segued into him telling me his thoughts on how the liberal media spreads misinformation.  He stated unequivocially that there’s no evidence anywhere that Fox News ever lied about anything.   He believes the liberal media spreads more mis-info; I believe the conservative media does.  It doesn’t matter who’s right, if we’re on this topic, it isn’t helping us achieve a happy life.

Afterward, I Googled to find just one example and found Top Fox News Executive Admits Lying On-Air About Obama, boasting that he lied repeatedly  on-air.  Even if a story is true, if the story is critical or complaining, telling it is not helping your case. Telling it isn’t bringing you peace of mind.  Telling it isn’t helping you attract the income and life you’re entitled to.   Telling it is preventing you from attracting opportunities to yourself.

So tell that story, debate that point with friends, get pissed off and think the government is bringing the country down and going to hell in a handbasket. But keep that info to yourself and let me live in my happy world where none of that matters.  If God wants me to have a happy life, Man isn’t going to stop that from happening.  If Man lets a thousand man-eating tigers loose in my neighborhood, if it’s God’s will — and my expectation and belief — the whole incident can pass without me ever being aware of it.  That happens all the time with disaster striking just inches away from where survivors stand.  Don’t tell me to expect the worst when I know what’s possible.

And it’s not just possible in this situation, it’s not just possible that I can avoid a man eating tiger, it’s not just possible that I can thrive despite whatever the government is doing or not doing.  It’s possible I can attract a happy and fulfilling life despite anything that is going on around me.  I’ve seen it happen far too often to not believe it.

What I’m most surprised at is him believing that anything man says or does can have more sway over how his life unfolds than whatever plan God has for  him.   As long as he believes that, he is living in a very small world.  A friend said it well, “If you identify with your body, then you are controlled. If you identify with your source, then you are in control.  When you know you’re more than all this and eternal, then you have no government.”

Tell me what you think after you are able to attract a life you like, a job you love and the income you want.  Do it THEN tell me about it.
