Why get your teeth cleaned? If you grow plaque in your mouth, you grow it in your body

teeth cleaningI just signed up for dental insurance in case my sinus toothache of two days is not just sinus. It cost me $164 a year with Delta Dental. Glad to see they are top rated.  Here’s a Tooth Meridian Chart To See The Oral and Systemic Connection, click on which tooth hurts to see what body organs and systems are affected.  When you’re checking your teeth against the tooth meridian chart, remember you may have had your wisdom teeth out. I had mine out when I was 16 and, like me, you may also have had your second molars out at the same time. I have 12 up and 12 down, I can’t imagine where the others would have fit. I guess that’s why the extraction.

I flossed two nights ago and the floss got pink. Maybe it’s nothing but heck, these are my teeth and they hafta last me another 63 years! The bf last night gave me a pack of G-U-M Soft Picks, which are really cool! They don’t fit between all the teeth (which is good) but it didn’t come out pink.    A friend said she used The Natural Dentist Healthy Gums Antigingivitis Rinse (Walmart carries it also) for 3 days and her gums got 80% better.  My gums haven’t bled again but I’ll schedule a dental exam.

Writer Marlene Buffa http://www.WordsOfMind.com had the best suggestion, “I get my teeth cleaned at the dentist’s office every six weeks. Heart disease runs in my family. Plaque clogs up the arteries. If you grow plaque in your mouth, you grow it in your body. Whatever happens in your mouth, happens in your body. Eliminate plaque and gum problems (inflammation and infection) and you reduce the likelihood of cardiac and other problems. With my family history, I’m happy to spend an hour with hygienist every six weeks instead of needing to get my chest cracked open for heart surgery later on.”

World famous surgeon and author Bernie Siegel weighed in, when asked about the corelation of dental plaque and heart disease, ” “yes there is a correlation with heart disease etc. we all die some day so do what makes you happy. love and care for yourself but don’t become obsessive about not dying. work at enjoying living then your body fights disease as it was meant to do and you’re not upset about all the dentist visits which didn’t save your teeth and life.”  Thank you Bernie for reminding us what’s really important.
