This weekend is Samhain/Halloween and Day of the Dead, said to be a time of the thinning of the veil between our world and the nonphysical world of spirit. It’s a time to mark the ongoing cycle of life and death and honor our ancestors and loved ones who have passed. It’s a time to move energy from darkness to light. This year, I had several loved ones pass and I’ll spend time tonight reflecting on our lineage and having known them.
It’s also a time to engage in conversation with the spirit of those who have passed, and make amends where amends are needed. Have a conversation between the two of you, resolving all differences. This is how you work out a past situation energetically in the Now. This is the perfect time to use Ho’Oponopono, the Hawaiian healing process. I’ve done this so many times throughout the years that I don’t feel I have anything unresolved with anyone in spirit. It’s a free feeling, having nothing unsaid hanging over my head. Take time this Samhain to reflect on the past year and resolve what feels unresolved. Things and people come to pass, they don’t come to stay. Make the journey enjoyable. Your thoughts in the Now mend the “karma” of your past. Make peace with your ancestors tonight.
