I wondered what might be causing the water to leak underneath my wall into the dining room and since the shower I fixed myself 12 months ago was on the other side of the wall, I thought I’d pull out some kinda loose tiles and see what might be the culprit. I think I found it. My dad was a contractor so I’m not afraid to open a wall. The drywall is missing in the pic since it was water damaged and literally crumbling in my hand. While I replaced the shower head last April, which stopped that leak, apparently there was a lower leak I did not know about. In a little while I’ll turn on the shower and see what there is to see. A piece of wood that was behind the shower controls was very water damaged and lifted right out. From the water stains on the two by fours it looks like there’s some kind of leak right behind the shower control. The master bath came with a shower only and I installed the tub in 1987 so I may just take this oversized tub out, I rarely use it anyway. I posted this on Facebook and the world famous Bernie siegel asked, “Why is this a subject for FB?” Because it’s my life and I share whatever is happening with me. He periodically gives me a little heck for some of my posts. If I put something out there for the world to see, I can’t dictate how someone will respond. I feel honored he’d even glance at my posts when they come across the newsfeed, much less comment — even if it’s a snarky comment.
