Some think it’s a shame when a family splits and some also know it’s often for the better. The shame is when a good person has to leave a situation with a psychologically unbalanced and physically, emotionally abusive spouse who goes out of their way to make their partner’s life hell. In Domino’s case, the shame is when there’s a child involved who knows nothing of her mother’s actions, threats and behavior, nor the secret drug use tied to it. The shame is when the father doesn’t have the time and money to get everyone into counselling and instead does his best to make family life seem normal to the child until she’s old enough to be on her own. A Non-Working Father’s Day. Do workaholics ever retire?
Today was an odd Father’s Day for sure. For the past 20 years, I’ve been used to working almost every holiday, because that’s when some of my clients are alone, have the time and most want the appointment. My own dad died on Father’s Day, but I know we survive in consciousness after the change called death, so it’s not a sad day for me. For others, it can be a day that is difficult to get through, as is Easter and Christmas and Thanksgiving. I typically have a half dozen readings scheduled and that’s how my day is spent. Happily spent, I might add, since I enjoy my work. I enjoy interacting with everyone and I learn from them as well. I learn about myself as I learn about them. This Father’s Day I spent relaxing at home, cooking some good food, napping, hanging with the Roomi. What I learned about myself is that well, I miss working on a day that I know a lot of emotion is in the air, a day I’m used to being available for friends to chat it out if they want to. Old habits die hard, huh? Hmmm, do workaholics ever really retire?
You can help Exchange Club Yellow Umbrella automatically every time you web search
I Google search dozens of times a day. I just learned I can benefit my friend Terri Mermis’ foundation by signing up here and using their WEB SEARCH toolbar. Children need love and guidance to be successful. Exchange Club Yellow Umbrella provides programs for that. By signing up, you help the cause. When you install the tool bar, it may look like it’s only for shopping. It’s not. it just takes a moment to find the WEB search feature the the right of the toolbar and use it for searches.
After sign up, you’ll get email instructions to install the iGive button. It’s easy. You have to do it within 3 days to benefit the charity. I did it as soon as I got it. It’s easy. After installing, you’ll click on the iGive button on the toolbar, then iGive Store List, then WEB, then begin your search. A couple of extra steps, but for a good cause ?
Wow, this is much easier than I thought at first. And neat, I can check the stats, it says I’ve earned for the cause $5 for bonus and 14c thru searching in just a few days. A free and easy way to help a friend with her good cause. Sign up with us?
A strange passion is moving in my head. My heart has become a bird which searches in the sky. Every part of me goes in different directions. Is it really so that the One I love is everywhere? ~ Rumi
Stop labelling, you’re doing yourself a disservice
I posted “A Lightworker’s Creed” on Facebook and Roomi shared it and got this response from a Christian friend: “Looks NEW AGE TO ME.” I responded: “With all due respect, how about instead of labeling it, read the words and consider the content. I don’t understand what offends you about it, other than the label YOU put on it: It reads, “I learn so that others may also learn, I transform so that others may transform, I lighten my load so that others may change theirs, I learn to see so that others may also see, I forgave myself so that I may help others to forgive, I love myself so that I can bring out love in others. I live to give comfort, I live to shine loving light onto others, I live to heal, I live to give hope, I live for truth, I live to love.” I understand the fanatics have made some people avoid anything “new age,” just as the fanatics have turned so many off to anything labelled “christian.” When we are so quick to label something rather than try to understand it, we do ourselves a disservice. If those exact words were printed in any version of the bible, the self proclaimed Christians would have no problem with it. John 10:16, Jesus said “Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I bring and they also hear my voice.”
All I ever talk about is what my own experience has been
Anything I ever write is simply my belief and my opinion, and doesn’t mean this is how it is across the board. It’s just me telling my what my experience has been. That’s all I ever talk about, what MY experience has been. I’m never preaching to anyone that “this is how it is.”
When members of the former flock start crucifying you
Uh oh, Roomi is ruffling the feathers of his former flock and they’re giving him holy heck. I told him “If anyone is upset by what you write, it is because God is allowing their buttons to be pushed. He has his reasons to use you as a conduit. A conduit allows conveyance or free passage from one place to another. It is not one way. Free passage allows movement and movement allows growth. God permits all that happens to happen as it does for a designed purpose. And if we’re always in the midst of God’s will, how can we not rejoice?”
Father’s Day and he can’t see his kids
Sunday is Father’s Day. A friend of mine has two young children and an ex-wife who does everything she can to keep him from them. This will be a somber Father’s Day for him. He doesn’t have the funds to keep going back into court to file contempt orders to make her allow him visitation as ordered. Attorneys fees have already depleted the savings and devastated the family financially. His job is comes to a close in September. His biggest concern right now, though, is he doesn’t know how he’ll get through Father’s Day this Sunday. Continue reading
The headline reads: Brazilian Woman Wins Right To Masturbate At Work.
The provocative headline reads: Brazilian Woman Wins Right To Masturbate At Work. Ana is a 36-year-old Brazilian woman who suffers from a chemical imbalance that triggers severe anxiety and hypersexuality. An accountant by day, Ana began to have problems at work, saying the only way to relieve her anxiety is by masturbating 18-47 times a day. After winning a court battle, Ana is allowed to masturbate and watch porn using her work’s computer. I posted the story on Facebook, saying: “Another crazy and unnecessary lawsuit. If she developed her creative imagination skills, she wouldn’t have to use the company’s computer and no one would have been the wiser.” And later, “”what a misery and hell it must be to be controlled by something you feel you have no control over, especially if it gets to this point. Whether she got to this point for attention or true need, the attorney fees may have been better spent in taking a retreat from her hectic life and being with professionals qualified to treat addictive behavior.” One friend commented; ” WTF? This is a real spiritual topic.” I responded, “It is. Per Wiki: “Spirituality refers to a subjective (inner, personal) reality… an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of their being, or the “deepest values and meanings by which people live. We learn who we are as we watch ourselves react to what those around us do and say.”
Think kindly, you never know who you’re judging
Yesterday, we went to Publix and parked behind a black sedan almost diagonal in the parking space. WTF?? Returned to the car and saw an elderly gentleman, barely moving along, begin to place groceries in the car. When we first got there a woman with two children had a snide remark, like “the nerve that someone would park like this, it’s not like it’s a new Mustang or something.” Roomi: “The reality was, he was doing good to get out of the house and make it to the store. It’s never as it appears. When you wait long enough, all answers will be revealed to you.”
