Yearly Archives: 2013

Fake friends are like shadows.

Fake friends are like shadows. They follow you in the sun and leave you in the dark. Don’t judge them, they’re trying to make their way out of the darkness and may not yet be as strong as you are. Keep shining your light.

Last night’s New Moon Ritual: My Intentions for 2013 are to expand and make more play time

Last night being the New Moon, I went out to the firepit and made a small fire, throwing in two sweet potatoes and an ear of corn.  Half the fun of having a fire, and half the process for setting an intention of the fire, is the gathering of the kindling and the firewood.  I always have a lot of deadfall from the oaks and pines I live under, so the gathering goes quickly.  I brought out my teapot and set it on an upper stone ledge to keep it hot for my kava tea.  The night sky was dark and the scene was lit only by the glow of my small fire.  I love doing contemplation under the night sky, listening to the night sounds and watching the raccoons, the armadillo family, and the lone opossum make their way up and down the trail. I totally lost track of time, I love when that happens.  My intention for 2012 was to have new experiences and broaden my small world. Success! No regrets! Best year ever! For 2013, I will expand my inner and outer territories by making more play time. Who’s in?

Full Moon Ritual for releasing the things in our lives that no longer serve us

The Full Moon is a time of completion and celebration, when the Sun and the Moon are opposite. The full moon completes the cycle, representing death,  change, or tying up loose ends. It symbolizes the end chapter, shedding light on the things that we no longer need to hold on to.  Full Moon is an opportune time of  the month for purging rituals to take place. The light the full moon  offers illuminates those things that are interfering with our  spiritual advancements. Once we have become enlightened to ways that are blocking us, the easier to let go. The full moon ritual is for releasing or purging the things in our lives that no longer serve us such as addictions to food, drugs, or sex, relinquishing suffering involved in hurtful relationships, discharging physical and emotional pains, etc. Continue reading

New Moon Manifestation Ceremony

The new moon is the birthing cycle of the moon’s various phases. The new moon phase is an optimal time for planning and seeding your intentions. Seedlings need a period of gestation before they break through the soil and reach for the sunlight. This is also true for our ideas and our desires. The dark side of the moon, with its mysterious unseen forces, offers a nurturing environment where our intentions can establish roots before their miraculous manifestations begin to sprout and reach out to the stars.  Continue reading

In 2013 I’ll jump only through my own hoops

2012 was a year of allowing myself to jump through someone else’s hoops. In 2013, I’m on the other side of those hoops. Thank you, ringmaster.  My weakness is when someone asks me outright to please help because there’s no one else who can. I was never a victim, though, I was always a volunteer. It’s fun until it stops being fun!

Flu advisory? Be careful? Yes, by being mindful of our thoughts.

Flu advisory? Be careful? Yes, let us be careful of our thoughts because we deplete our immune system when we are thinking thoughts that do not make us feel good.  So the remedy is find some fun in whatever you’re doing, wash your hands to keep them pretty, dance with a friend for 10 minutes twice a day, give kind words to strangers and make each other laugh, laugh, laugh.
