I like watching some of the cooking shows. Giada De Laurentiis is a favorite, with Giada at Home on The Food Network. I like Rachael Ray’s 30 Minute Meals and Alton Brown’s Good Eats. I especialy like their personalities. They each have their own personal flavor, kind of like Emeril Lagasse has his custom blend of spices. His Emeril’s Essence contains paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano and thyme. My own custom blend of most used cooking spices contains garlic powder, cumino, thyme, oregano, basil and cinnamon. It gives my dishes a distinctive flavor and is a common theme throughout my daily fare.
Just as my spice combinations are a common theme throughout my daily fare, so is my own personality. I know I am uniquely me in how I relate to everyone. The personality essence I cultivate is being happy and service-oriented, wanting to be of help in any way I can. I also cultivate faith, gratitude, appreciation, hopeful anticipation, as well as humility and forgiveness. All combined, they make up who I am and what sprinkles out of me onto everyone whose path I cross. Just like Emeril being heavy handed as he sprinkles his Essence into his recipes, I try to be as heavy handed as I can with the traits I admire most.
What is your personality essence made up of? What are you sprinking into the soup of your life each day?
