My Magic Bullet MB1001 finally stops 5 years later — so I bought a new base motor!

I bought my original Magic Bullet Model MB1001 mini blender online in 2005.  Friends had one and paid about $50 for it, so I price shopped and found one on eBay that I got for $22 including shipping.  It’s lasted me – this will be the 5th year.  I mostly use it to make hummus and tahina sauce, so it’s cutting parsley and garlic too, not exactly light duty.  Yesterday, right after I made some fresh babaganoush, the motor died.  Drat.  Now I had an entire 21 piece set of something that I no longer had a working base for.  Well, I only ever used the base and one container anyway.  I went online and Googled Magic Bullet Model MB1001 to see what other people have said when theirs died on them.

Someone suggested the website at http://www.buythebullet.com/ and so I emailed them from their contact page.  I told them my base motor had stopped working and it was several years old.  I asked if I could purchase a replacement base unit.  They wrote back and told me to call 866-446-6352 and I’d be able to order a base.  I called and the price was $19.98 including shipping.  That was a deal.  I ordered 2, so when this one goes, I’ll have a spare. I should have them in 7-10 days.  It’s a good thing I found my old Osterizer blender so I don’t need to go that long without hummus, tahina sauce, and babaganoush.

March 1, 2014 update: It’s been going strong since I bought it!
