My a/c is off for the weekend

The fans kept me coolAt noon Saturday, I wrote on Facebook:  “Hmmm, the fan on my central a/c seems to have stopped working.  At 77 degrees, it’s cool enough in here without it for right now. I checked the circuit breakers and flipped them.  Nothing.  In August 2005 I got the new a/c.  It has a ten year warranty on the compressor and coils.”  Several friends suggested it might be the capacitor, but we checked and the capacitor was fine.  I arranged for American Air and Heat (who installed it) to come out at 9:00am on tomorrow morning.  In the meantime, I wanted to have everything opened up and ready for the service dude to look at once he got here.  I opened up the unit in the hall closet inside the house and the central fan motor thingy on the pc board was not lighting up…  I turned the unit and breaker off and unplugged the fuse.

Saturday evening, we had the windows open and listened to a gentle rain fall.  A mildly cool breeze blew all night.  I set my bedroom fan right in front of the open window so the air would be directed on me.  I love to feel the air on me as I lay in bed relaxing into sleep.  It was a breezy night and I slept comfy and grateful! Today, Sunday, it even stayed coolish during the heat of the day since the house is under a canopy of oak and pine trees. I have to laugh, I have such a comfy life that this feels like a camping adventure to me, having no a/c. Yes, we’re really roughing it over here.  Fingers crossed, we’ll see what I attract!  So far, Donna with  American Air and Heat, who did the original installation, has been awesome with me by phone from a customer service point of view, letting me know exactly when someone can come out and answering my myriad of questions.  I feel I’m in good hands.  Fingers crossed, I’m thinking a/c by 10:00am Monday and an invoice that pleases me.  Today was, start to finish, a wonderfully satisfying and pleasant day.  Good food, good company, good music, good work.  I live in Paradise and I love my life.

UPDATE:  They had to replace the blower and module, to the tune of $1109.  I love it when the Universe makes me stretch my boundaries to allow more good to come in!
