My new stove and range hood get installed

Whirlpool-Range-Model-WFE510S0ABI’ve been to the gym only a few times this month.  A headcold made me lazy for a week, then there was the November magazine to get to press, followed by a few days of repair at my rental and a day of running around the courthouse with a pal.  While all that activity is fine, it isn’t a workout and my body knows the difference. My body starts griping if I spend too much time at the desk, too, so I love it when I wake up — even after a physically demanding two days — and want to go to the gym first thing!  After a half hour on the elliptical, I came home to get ready for my new Whirlpool Self-Cleaning Electric Range Model WFE510S0AB to be delivered.  I’ve never had a smooth top cooking surface, so I’m excited to have a new experience.

I moved the old stove to the doorway and cleaned the floor and wall behind it.  I cleared a pathway from the front door to the kitchen, which meant moving the wall divider and some stools out of the art studio, formerly the dining room. While I was at it, I reorganized a standing wall cabinet that contains all my lightbulbs, batteries and kitchen ware.  For years I’ve wanted to move it underneath the overhead cabinets on the south wall.  They measure 54″ wide by 24″ tall by 12″ deep.  Had they been installed just two inches higher, it would fit underneath. I see they are held in by just 6 screws each into the wall studs. They are heavy so it might be easier to remove the base from the 60″ standing wall cabinet and remove 2″ from the height that way.  And it might be easier to change my perception of where that cabinet is and why it needs to be elsewhere.
