I will not blame Mercury Retrograde for the plywood debacle

small bathroom rug cuts72I wrote in I love workworking projects that I’d gone to Home Depot yesterday for a sheet of plywood and I’d already spent lots of time figuring where I wanted the cuts made.  As you can see in the center left of the diagram, I made a math error as 24.5 plus 32 do not add up to 48 — the width of the board — it totals 54.5. That meant I needed 4 pieces of wood a specific size and, due to my miscalculation, I only got 2 of them. Yes, I could have recut from the top right piece (shown empty above), but by the time I caught my error, I’d already cut that for another project.  I think it’s interesting that 3 guys saw my plan for cutting the plywood, including the guy who cut the plywood. No one checked my figures to see I had the middle measurement wrong.  I see now I can swap places with the center pieces of wood, having the 32 wide by 26 tall piece to the left, and the 24.5 wide by 26 tall piece to the right.  It will be easier to piece together the missing 8″ in the corner right where no one will be stepping. The cut outs are for air duct and plumbing.  The diagonal cut is the doorway.

I just measured and the Home Depot guy cut each cut of my sheet of plywood just a little off.  Not much, but enough that I’d have to recut each board to trim a half inch or more along one end of each as it nears the edge. It must not have been flush along the bottom of the big cutter machine but that angle makes it not fit against the next board. Puzzle pieces must fit! I should take a skilsaw class so I can do these myself <saideverycontrolfreakever)

Then I learned I cannot cut plywood straight. Grrrr.  That means I have to have someone else make the cuts.  I prefer jobs I can do myself from start to finish. Mercury goes direct tomorrow, so communication mishaps will ease up.   Just in time, they deliver the November Horizons Magazine tomorrow!

A friend might ask, “if I’m such a conscious creator, why do I attract stuff like this?” The easy answer is due to my scattered focus.  I’m not one who is usually affected by Mercury Retrograde.  I think Mercury Retrograde gets a bad rap. Since Mercury rules communication, people love to say “oh, everything’s going wrong, that’s Mercury retrograde for you,” and that’s not the case at all.  Mercury Retrograde just means review, reconsider, return for more info. Pay extra attention to detail.  Check everything twice.  Slow down during this time, to be as effective as you can be.

I’ve been juggling a dozen projects and diffusing my focus on all of them.  That’s how I attracted things that needed to be done over.  I never experience anything that I do not attract.

This past Mercury Retrograde affected me as it put 7 squares and 3 oppositions in my astrological chart, in my 6th and 12th houses of Aries and Libra. I consider it mild and there were no disasters.  I can’t count the Home Depot incident as a disaster, since I like having extra pieces of wood around.  But I’m glad Mercury will go direct tomorrow.  Anything of yours that got delayed should go back to normal after the 11th when Mercury reaches the spot where it went retrograde.

As you were.

Even when I think it’s scattered energy, it’s all in divine order
