Spiritual brother Christopher Tims writes: “So last evening there was a sponsored ad on my personal Facebook news feed from the Shift Network.  I am taking the time to write because the Shift Network (as is their right) chose to remove my comments from their comments section on the posting. My comments were: “Becoming a divine human?!  We can not become anymore divine than we already are. Come on! This is so wrong on so many levels! “

This just happened to be the ad that got me to make a comment, the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. This ad is a poster child and demonstrates what is flawed and predatory in New Age/New Thought all across the board… We are not broken, we do not need to be fixed. We are made in the very essence of Divinity and we encompass in each atom of our being the magic and totality of the ALL of Creation.

This ad hints and teases that there are “secrets” that we don’t posses that will give us what we are lacking so that we can become more divine.  LIE!  It talks about the need to learn the “4 initiatory streams” that are required (FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!) to become a divine human!  BULLCRAP!

The tragic thing is, that people love this kind of stuff, they willingly and with much hope give their power and responsibility away to anyone or anything that promises to give them something that they feel they are lacking in, and the dark side of New Age/New Thought just preys on and feeds from, (sometimes without realizing it, but mostly fully on purpose) on peoples’ perceived fears and insecurities.

I say let’s just raise the bar for all of us, let’s not teach and promote error, let’s not feel that someone can give us something that we lack, a quick fix to make everything better…We are each of us so magnificent and glorious, we have so much to teach and to learn and to remind each other of, endlessly, throughout lifetimes and untold universes, we can play and switch roles, we can do it in love and integrity remembering that we are all drops in the same ocean of love and mercy.

I hope in the future there can be a platform on which we can all openly share our diverse views and experiences and have an open give and take of dialogue without censorship. I thought the Shift Network would be about that, but they chose to delete rather than to respond.”
