Who conducts these surveys ranking psychic readers?

I have to shake my head every time someone tells me they went to a highly ranked psychic and got a disappointingly generic and unremarkable reading.  When asked where she got the name from, it turns out she saw an ad naming the person as “The Country’s No. x Psychic.”  When asked how she got her title, it was as a result of a survey given to several hundred subscribers to a newsletter.  Those eligible for nomination were advertisers in the newsletter and they created a contest for it.

My cousin asked me when people are doing surveys like this, what do I tell them? Since I publish “Florida’s new age magazine since 1992” and all. Oh, cousin <shaking head…>  These people do not contact me, nor do they go roaming all over the country scouting out the available publications or directories for referrals to psychics.  It’s exactly this reason Horizons Magazine doesn’t hold contests and award titles like that.

In fact, I’m still seeking referrals to psychic readers.  However, only those who read my blog will know that.  When someone gives me a name of someone they got a “great reading” from, I tell them to contact the psychic and have them read my post and respond to  me if they wish.  Very few have.  Some clearly did not read the post before they gave me a 3 minute sample reading.  So if this is the type of reading you’re looking for, and most everyone who calls me is, I have no one to refer and would love to have some someone.  Anyone.
