It’s been a week of mostly playing, although as a workaholic I get some work done even on days off. I am back to my routine of doing laps around the neighborhood, which is something I’m happy to get back to. Some of my best insights come to me when I’m walking alone at all hours. Plus it’s a break since I live and work at home. I check email when I wake up and this morning I found my Paypal debit card had been hacked. I called and they took care of it right away. A gorgeous day outside, like 75 degrees, low humidity, so I spent the morning working in the yard. I pulled a few miles of wedelia and potato vine, and moved a dozen potted plants off my east patio. Since I’ve removed a privacy line of a dozen loquat saplings, I wanted to change the view from the street. I formed a new path with the stepping stones and grouped the potted plants together at the end of the path. I love the new look, and I have more room to enjoy my east patio.
I went inside and moved the tv onto a rolling table, which freed up a short dresser. I glanced inside it to find a treasure store of favorite lounging pajamas from years ago! I pulled out the sewing machine and ironing board and spent the afternoon cutting and sewing them to fit my leaner body. I haven’t sewn for a couple of years and it felt good. I’d forgotten how relaxing and in the zone sewing gets me. The afternoon flew. On the silky leopard print lounger, I cut the legs off mid calf and used the fabric to make pockets for the camisole top. Perfect! I immediately put them on. On the red and gold pjs, I cut the top a little narrower and took in the pants and gave a new waistband. With a 3/4 sleeve, they are perfect for the warmer weather. I like putting pockets in everything. Why do I need pockets in my pajamas? I never know when I’ll want to take home a dream.
