What I do is haul mine all out there and whatever they don&#8217;t pick up for being too big, I&#8217;ll cut down to 48&#8243;. They&#8217;ve always picked mine up, but mine are all dead branches, light and easy to pick up. Here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/spacecoastdaily.com\/2017\/09\/storm-debris-collections-to-begin-this-weekend-all-debris-set-out-in-right-of-way-will-be-taken\/\">the Space Coast Daily article<\/a> telling you all about it. \u00a0\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Storm Debris Collections To Begin This\u00a0Weekend, All Debris Set Out In Right-of-Way Will Be Taken \/\/ \u00a0Space Coast Daily \/\/\u00a0 September 16, 2017<\/h4>\n<div class=\"details\">\n<p><strong>IRMA GENERATED 600,000 CUBIC YARDS OF DEBRIS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA<\/strong> \u2013 The Solid Waste Management Department has entered into the clean-up phase for debris generated by Hurricane Irma.\u00a0It is estimated that Irma generated more than 600,000 cubic yards of debris, which includes trees, branches and limbs \u2014 along with some construction debris, such as fences, docks and roofing shingles.<\/p>\n<p>The County\u2019s franchised collector, Waste Management, Inc., resumed collection for household garbage, recycling and containerized yard waste. As a result of the high volume of debris regular trash pickup has been delayed.<\/p>\n<p>Brevard County\u2019s disaster debris contractors AshBritt and Crowder Gulf\u00a0are now collecting loose piles of yard waste including trees debris, as well as construction materials such as wood and shingles.<\/p>\n<p>Collections of storm debris will begin this\u00a0weekend and all such debris set out in the right-of-way will be collected.<\/p>\n<div class=\"related_post_box related_post_box_float_\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>As you prepare your debris, please follow these guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Debris must be set out on the public right-of-way to be collected; do not place storm debris in roadway.<\/li>\n<li>Separate your debris. This is extremely important for efficient collection!<\/li>\n<li>Keep all household garbage and recycling in the carts provided by Waste Management;<\/li>\n<li>Containerize loose vegetative debris (leaves, grass clippings, pine needles or shrubbery cuttings)<\/li>\n<li>Cut up trees and limbs into 4\u2019 lengths<\/li>\n<li>Neatly stack construction and demolition debris (drywall, roof shingles, side, carpet, fencing and docks).<\/li>\n<li>Call Waste Management for collection of white goods (appliances: refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Never place any debris beside utility poles or transformers, under power lines, on top of water meters, on storm drains, by fire hydrants, near vehicles, next to mailboxes or fences.<\/li>\n<li>Hidden electrical hazards can injure or kill collection personnel.<\/li>\n<li>Do not place debris on other people\u2019s property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contractors hired by a homeowner for tree trimming, fence repair\/replacement, or construction are responsible for hauling away all yard waste, fencing and construction materials.<\/p>\n<p>The County\u2019s Central Disposal Facility in Cocoa, the Sarno Road Landfill and Transfer Station in Melbourne, and Mockingbird Way Mulching Facility in Titusville are open\u00a0through\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_381906310\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0if you choose to deliver your debris to a permitted disposal facility yourself.\u00a0All locations are open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>White goods (refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, etc) will be picked up by Waste Management.
