{"id":44469,"date":"2016-05-29T06:16:14","date_gmt":"2016-05-29T11:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=44469"},"modified":"2016-05-29T06:16:14","modified_gmt":"2016-05-29T11:16:14","slug":"help-a-stranger-or-keep-your-distance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/help-a-stranger-or-keep-your-distance\/","title":{"rendered":"Help a stranger or keep your distance?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Facebook friend wrote on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/PBcrimewatch\/?ref=bookmarks\">Palm Bay Crime Watch <\/a>page that a young woman knocked on her door, said she was a neighbor\u2019s daughter locked out and asked for a ride to her mom\u2019s work to get the key. \u00a0Mom of course not \u201cat work,\u201d she caught on that she might be being set up for a robbery. She dropped the woman off and returned home. <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><em>So, how do you know when to help a stranger and when to keep a distance?<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>There\u2019s always a fine line, isn\u2019t there, between wanting to do the right thing and be a good samaritan, yet stay safe and leave people to the consequences of the choices they made before they knocked on your door. You have to ask yourself, &#8220;<em>Why does this person have no one but a random stranger to ask for help? Where are their friends, or anyone else who knows them<\/em>?&#8221; Sure, maybe it&#8217;s &#8220;Jesus in disguise&#8221; (isn&#8217;t everyone?) but who knows what lesson this particular \u201cJesus\u201d may have in store for you today? \u00a0What determines how you will respond? These are good soul searching questions to ask yourself while keeping your doors locked. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em><strong>So what determines whether you attract a true damsel in distress or a scam artist in the first place?<\/strong><\/em><\/span> The answer to that lies with knowing what factors you\u2019re resonating in harmony with currently. \u00a0<em>How are you vibing lately<\/em>? Happy or ticked off? \u00a0<em>What have you been attracting this week?<\/em> Good stuff? Challenges?\u00a0 \u00a0<em>How severe are the issues and relationships from the past that you\u2019ve left unresolved?<\/em> What is in your past is what determines what\u2019s getting ready to come back to you.<\/p>\n<p>Factoring in your answers to these questions, in any given moment you are the one who knows whether you\u2019ve created past momentum for blessings or lessons.
