{"id":3183,"date":"2009-06-15T22:38:02","date_gmt":"2009-06-16T03:38:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=3183"},"modified":"2009-06-15T22:38:02","modified_gmt":"2009-06-16T03:38:02","slug":"back-to-the-daily-routine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/back-to-the-daily-routine\/","title":{"rendered":"Back to the daily routine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday, June 16, 2009.\u00a0 <em>Well, it&#8217;s life back to normal after the Universal Lightworkers&#8217; Conference. <\/em> Back to\u00a0 final layout on the July <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\" target=\"_blank\">Horizons Magazine<\/a>, and back to my flat hair now that I&#8217;m home in muggy central Florida.\u00a0\u00a0 Spending the weekend inside the hotel (no humidity!) for the conference, my hair was big, California hair.\u00a0 Then one trip out to my mailbox yesterday and drooooop go my golden locks&#8230;..\u00a0 ah, back to normal.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know why it&#8217;s so much more humid just 2 hours north of Fort Lauderdale.\u00a0 At the hotel, I was in room 1123 and had a balcony.\u00a0 I kept the sliding glass door open much of the time since I am used to the fresh air.\u00a0 Even though the sound of the a\/c was very loud on the balcony, I liked the fresh air.\u00a0 It was\u00a0 warm, but not very humid.\u00a0 Not on the 11th floor anyway, and there was a breeze.\u00a0 After dark, I could look out the open window and see the city lights lining the horizon, like a jeweled necklace.\u00a0 When I see night scenes like that, I can see why someone would want to live in a highrise in the city.\u00a0 But I&#8217;d rather live where I have some land and some trails and woods to walk in, even if it&#8217;s just on my little acre.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The last several years I have taken off from attending all conferences.\u00a0 There were just too many of them and they were getting too similar and becoming old hat. It was material I&#8217;d studied for 20+ years and I was starting to feel like I knew it all anyway.\u00a0 I was tired of being solicited at every step of every gathering.\u00a0 I never really went to &#8220;work&#8221; any of the events, just to attend.\u00a0 I usually never do business at these conferences, just connect in person and later email or call.\u00a0 But seeing <em>Horizons Magazine<\/em> on my name badge gave everyone license to promote themselves to me.\u00a0 With that lousy attitude, I knew it was time to take a break.<\/p>\n<p>It took me a couple of years to gain my perspective back and look forward to doing the conferences again.\u00a0 A couple of years of not feeling pressured to be somewhere.
