Sunday, June 14, 2009. Saturday morning began early with the vendors open at 8:00am and the music began at 9:00.\u00a0 It was a rousing tribal beat, perfect for waking up.\u00a0 The best part of waking up is NOT Folger’s in your cup \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0\u00a0 Don Miguel Ruiz<\/a> was the opening speaker.\u00a0 He has such a quiet yet powerful way about him, and his words are simple and profound.\u00a0 He told a story of how as a young teen, he once sat with his grandfather and told him all his teenage ideas and philosophies.\u00a0 He began to see a slight smile cross his grandfather’s face after a time, and he thought, “Oops.”\u00a0 But it was too late,\u00a0 It was his grandfather’s turn to speak.\u00a0 His grandfather told him that he had just heard Miguel parrot many ideas that others had told him.\u00a0 He did not hear any ideas that came from Miguel.\u00a0 \u00a0 Don Miguel Ruiz<\/a> learned from his grandfather that we search for everything we believe we don\u2019t have, not knowing that everything we are looking for is already inside us. We are born with it.\u00a0 We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.\u00a0 No one else.\u00a0 Us.\u00a0 We do it.\u00a0 We don’t need to seek outside ourselves for guardian angels.\u00a0 There are 6 billion of us on the planet. \u00a0 Life is a dream and you are not who you think that you are! There are 6 billion Messengers on Earth\u2026 Angels who give & receive messages. What kind of messenger are you? <\/em>Powerful stuff.<\/p>\n

The first set of workshops were with Life in Balance<\/a>, Jean Adrienne<\/a> and Judith Lukomski<\/a>.\u00a0 I like that the ULC paces the workshops so that everyone has a chance over the weekend to attend all the events.\u00a0 Michael Mirdad spoke after lunch.\u00a0 Your Perfect Self is here NOW! Don’t try to go get it\u2026you grow to it. Just shift your consciousness. <\/em>Michael always has good practical words on cutting through the nonsense and getting down to what’s real.\u00a0 Getting down to the business of waking up.\u00a0 He is a good teacher and an entertaining presenter.<\/p>\n

I’ve got to tell you, I spent part of the time in my room working – as usual – and had to call upon the staff at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North<\/a> several times and service could not have been better.\u00a0 I’d ordered a room with a refrigerator and they had my room ready when I got there more than an hour early. \u00a0 I asked if a balcony room was available and it was, so they ordered the refrigerator moved to the new room.\u00a0 It was there by the time I got up to the room.\u00a0 My balcony door didn’t have a lock and within 5 minutes, someone was up correcting it.\u00a0 I requested several extra items Friday and Saturday, and they promptly brought them.\u00a0 Everyone was ultra courteous and gracious, on the phone and in person, from Lorre at the front desk (perfect place for her – what a good first impression!) to the housekeeping staff.\u00a0 They’ve made some upgrades since I was here last.\u00a0 The rooms I saw had immaculate marble tile floors and immaculate carpet.\u00a0 My bed was extremely comfortable, with two giant pillows and two sleep size, perfect for sitting in bed proofreading.\u00a0 The desk in the office area by the balcony was the perfect place to set up the laptop, since this is a working weekend for me.<\/p>\n

I missed the dinner event, which is always very fun.\u00a0 Each year I’ve gone,\u00a0 we’ve have wild fun at the Saturday evening dinner<\/a>. This is my 10th Universal Lightworkers\u2019 Conference<\/a>; I missed last year and the year before.\u00a0 Even when I have to work through half the conference, it’s always a fun time.\u00a0 I enjoy the speakers and presenters, I enjoy seeing many friends I only keep in touch with via email, phone and Facebook. I always leave the Universal Lightworkers\u2019 Conference<\/a> refreshed and renewed.<\/p>\n

I really liked the bed I had.\u00a0 Very cushy.\u00a0 I may get one like that.<\/p>\n
