This morning I awoke early and well rested after<\/span> yesterday’s uncluttering<\/a>. \u00a0I began in the garage, first driving my Prius out onto the driveway so I had an empty space as a staging area. \u00a0I first moved my trusty sawhorses into place and made a table by setting on top of them two 1″ x 8″ shelves about 8 feet long.\u00a0\u00a0I began pulling \u00a0items down that were not where they belonged. \u00a0I made a few stacks of that: \u00a0string, wire, rope, that would all be placed together somewhere. \u00a0Duct tape, masking tape, painter’s tape would all go together. \u00a0Painting supplies by themselves and wood carving supplies on their own. \u00a0Bicycle maintenance gear will have its own shelf near the compressors. \u00a0 I set my little Ryobi air compressor\u00a0to charge and swept a clean space on the floor for the heavier electric compressor. \u00a0I’d set my portable drill to charge the day before, so it was good to go. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I listened to Fred Migliore’s FM Odyssey on 89.5FM as I worked and he had some great old music, Jefferson Starship, Pat Metheny.\u00a0I found several new packages of jigsaw blades but haven’t found the jig saw yet. \u00a0I only did the west wall of the garage so far. \u00a0The saws should be on the north wall, probably behind the plywood. \u00a0 \u00a0I have several large plastic tubs maybe 24″ x 42″ that are the perfect size to slide into the shelving, and they are white so it’s easy to see what’s inside. \u00a0One I filled with bags of plant fertilizer, peat moss, topsoil. \u00a0Another has all the screening and screen repair tools in it. \u00a0 Another contains the lawn sprinkler and hose parts and tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have a dozen small plastic bins that nestle together, and they each contain things like nails or screws of a certain size, or curtain rod parts, or little odds and ends. \u00a0By the time I was finished going through everything, I had only a handful of items I’ll have to find a home for, probably in one of those small plastic nestled bins. \u00a0 Before I came in, I moved the lawn sprinkler and disturbed several jays and doves at the bird bath. \u00a0I took a few moments to walk the property and see what the wildlife was up to. \u00a0I’ve got two new bamboo babies growing and they soak up the water. \u00a0It feels good to get another layer of stuff sorted out and out of my mind. \u00a0When my space is organized, I feel I have so much more room to breathe. \u00a0When I can breathe, that is when I live my most expansive life.<\/span><\/p>\n
