At Publix in the checkout, I\u2019m in workout gear and so is the woman ahead of me. \u00a0She\u2019s buying Lean Cuisine meals and I\u2019m buying chicken thighs, a pint of vinegar and a white potato. \u00a0I remark, \u201cHey, ima buy what you\u2019re buying if I get to have a body like that. \u00a0I was going to buy a 3 Musketeers bar until seeing you. Thanks for the inspiration.\u201d \u00a0We laugh. \u00a0When her total comes up, the cashier says, \u201cif you buy $1.37 more, you get a $10 gift certificate (for $100 purchase.)\u201d \u00a0She looks around \u00a0to see what\u2019s near she can buy for $1.37. \u00a0I told her \u201cA 3 Musketeers bar is just $1.59.\u201d \u00a0She said \u201cI\u2019ll buy you one.\u201d\u00a0I said \u201cOh no you won\u2019t, buy my vinegar instead.\u201d<\/p>\n
She says ok and the cashier rings it up but it\u2019s only $1.15. \u00a0We\u2019re laughing. \u00a0\u201cBuy my potato,\u201d I said. \u00a0She says \u201cok\u201d and as the cashier is ringing it up, I go to hand the woman $2 for my vinegar and potato. \u00a0\u201cNo thanks,\u201d she said, \u201cyou just made my day.\u201d<\/p>\n
My total without the potato and vinegar came to $6.66 \u00a0LOL \u00a0Old habit, what to buy to change the total so I reach around and grab an Almond Joy. \u00a0 The cashier looks at me like I’m crazy or maybe just a fibber since I just said I wouldn’t eat a candy bar, me being so inspired and all<\/em>… \u00a0 I smiled an inner smile since I don\u2019t eat coconut or nuts. \u00a0But these are my cousin’s favorite. \u00a0Now the test to see how long it takes him to read this to know that it’s in the freezer…<\/p>\n UPDATE:\u00a0 it took him 12 hours<\/p>\n
