\"close-some-doors\"<\/a>When someone shows up unannounced and your experience tells you it’s best to keep the door closed, you keep the door closed… no matter how many times they cry wolf. \u00a0I wrote yesterday in\u00a0This is a drama free zone<\/a> that I love Facebook\u2019s On This Day<\/em> feature that shows me what I\u2019d posted 1, 2, 5, 7\u00a0years\u00a0before on this day. \u00a0I’d written “I don\u2019t know how people stay in moody up and down relationships with boomerang partners. It\u2019s such a waste of everyone\u2019s time and energy and is mega disrespectful. Thankfully I did my time years ago. I count myself lucky getting away with less than two years babysitting a drama queen<\/em>.” \u00a0 I wrote that after seeing posts I\u2019d made reminding me of the maze I\u2019d allowed a former friend to put me thru years ago. I spent less than 3 minutes in thought time on it but thoughts are powerful things. I finished some work and at noon laid down to sleep.\u00a0 A knock on the door roused me and I opened the door expecting USPS. It was the former friend I\u2019d just been reminded of. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Half asleep, I didn\u2019t know why he was there nor even that I\u2019d opened the door.
\n\u201cI just walked 3 miles,\u201d he said as I closed the door.
\n\u201cI am not speaking with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Experience taught me I cannot believe a word he says. I don\u2019t have to be told twice. We\u2019ve had this conversation before: \u00a0if there’s anything to say, you can text or email me<\/a>. \u00a0You cannot just show up unannounced, especially after the fiasco of the last time you did that<\/a>. \u00a0He’d offered an exit interview <\/a>and instead of answering my 4 simple questions<\/a>, he began an angry barrage of new accusations, new things to blame me for, more things he’d never mentioned in our uber-honest relationship. \u00a0I didn’t want a repeat of that. \u00a0I don’t vibe with anger. I closed the door. You only have to show me once.<\/p>\n
