{"id":40772,"date":"2013-03-27T04:10:10","date_gmt":"2013-03-27T09:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=40772"},"modified":"2015-05-31T04:11:14","modified_gmt":"2015-05-31T09:11:14","slug":"rest-in-peace-my-childhood-friend-wally-smith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/rest-in-peace-my-childhood-friend-wally-smith\/","title":{"rendered":"Rest in Peace my Childhood Friend Wally Smith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Wally-Smith-cropped-72.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-40773\" src=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Wally-Smith-cropped-72.jpg\" alt=\"Wally Smith cropped 72\" width=\"127\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a>My childhood friend, Wally (Walter Clarence Smith) was born September 2, 1952 in Hialeah, FL.\u00a0 He and his family lived down the street from us during our childhood years.\u00a0 We were the best of friends.\u00a0 We attended school together from elementary through graduation at Hialeah High in 1970.\u00a0 We kept in touch as we grew older and moved away from our hometown.\u00a0 Our last visit was just a month ago at his home.\u00a0 He passed away on March 12, 2013.\u00a0 He is survived by his loving sister, my dear, beloved friend Linda Smith.\u00a0 Always one to chose his own destiny, it was Wally\u2019s choice when to drop his earthly robes for his final walk.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be missed, my brother.\u00a0 There will never be another like you.
