\"Samsung-Galaxy-S5-unicorn-case\"<\/a>I’m such a commitment phobe. Buying a phone brings up my issues. I asked my computer guy which phone I should buy and he suggested the Samsung Galaxy S5. I spent a few weeks doing research for price and phone plans. I didn\u2019t want to pay more than $50\/month for unlimited talk, text and data. Especially since Walmart’s Family Mobile plans start at $29.88 for unlimited TTD.\u00a0\u00a0 I hated to be tied to a phone contract after the last several years with Virgin Mobile, but two years goes by quickly.\u00a0 I had to buy a phone NOW as my trusty HTC One V no longer held a charge and I cannot replace the battery.\u00a0\u00a0 I bought the Samsung Galaxy S5 at Best Buy. I learned you cannot get a Verizon contract unless you’re an existing customer or it’s on their Edge plan. The Edge plan breaks the cost of the phone into 24 payments, with no interest and no finance charge. I went in expecting to pay the advertised $99 for the phone and get on the Verizon plan. What the ad did not say was that I did not qualify for that special as it was for existing Verizon customers only. That\u2019s cool. Their price for the phone was competitive, it was in stock and I got an automatic 24 months to pay. I\u2019m in!\u00a0 <\/p>\n

My cost for unlimited text, talk and 1G data (I only use 1\/4 of that) including the $499 phone price divided by 24 = monthly $73.48 which includes tax. If I go over 1G, it\u2019s an additional $15. That\u2019s $20.80 per month for the phone and $52.68 per month for the Verizon service for 24 months. The only thing I paid today was the tax. I have no complaints whatsoever. I was sad to see Virgin Mobile go, we\u2019d had a satisfying relationship but it was time; parting is never easy and life is about change.<\/p>\n

I spent the afternoon setting my new phone up. The first thing I did was shut off a bunch of the notification sounds. I ordered a case online, as well as a mobile charger and a Bluetooth headset. I like a heavy duty industrial phone case. This phone without a case feels so fragile in my paws. It recharges in record time and it takes awesome pics.<\/p>\n

I love the screen size and ease of use. A couple of times a year I\u2019ll have a carpal tunnel flare up and my old phone was<\/p>\n

a little small at those times. I\u2019m in the middle of a flare up right now yet found the S5 easy to navigate. I like the bigger size. I\u2019ve not yet made or received a call but love the text message format. I\u2019m so glad I got my phone purchase and phone plan transfer over before Mercury went retrograde.<\/p>\n
