{"id":35276,"date":"2014-02-02T04:40:54","date_gmt":"2014-02-02T09:40:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=35276"},"modified":"2014-02-02T08:23:56","modified_gmt":"2014-02-02T13:23:56","slug":"saturday-fun-at-the-marine-resources-council-indian-river-lagoonfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/saturday-fun-at-the-marine-resources-council-indian-river-lagoonfest\/","title":{"rendered":"Saturday Fun at the Indian River LagoonFest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A busy Saturday, up early to run over to <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=35244\">my rental<\/a> and tidy things up before the new tenant moves in, then off to the Lagoon House for the Marine Resources Council <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrcirl.org\/our-programs\/whats-new\/lagoonfest-2014\">Indian River LagoonFest.<\/a>\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/rayananda.com\/\">Rayananda <\/a>would do the opening set of music and it was a balmy 78 degrees when we arrived to set up. They had food trucks lining the roadway behind the center and I noted that Taco City had an ATM machine on their truck.\u00a0 Smart! I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soulereclipse.com\/\">Souler Eclipse<\/a> on the program and hoped they would play right afterward. They did, accompanied by 4 added band members. I&#8217;d not heard them for a dozen years ~ joined also by Reggae recording artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reverbnation.com\/rasdodirie\">Ras Dodirie<\/a>, it was a soulful rockin sound.\u00a0 I videotaped the sound check and the set when\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rayananda.com\/\">Rayananda<\/a> played. The problem with taping it is when I hand hold the camera, I can&#8217;t really move to the music or chant along.\u00a0 After the set, I watched Sitar Tom lift himself off the floor for a few moments atop his fingertips.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a slim dude and made it look effortless, but I know it takes a lot of strength to lift your body atop fingertips with such ease.\u00a0 Kudos. It was fun to hang out in the sun with the bf, standing on the deck watching the Indian River Lagoon with happy people, listening to live music. I like watching him interact with others.\u00a0 Then home for a nap which for me lasted until after midnight.
