{"id":2325,"date":"2009-03-14T02:56:57","date_gmt":"2009-03-14T07:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=2325"},"modified":"2009-03-14T02:56:57","modified_gmt":"2009-03-14T07:56:57","slug":"dont-give-thought-to-psychic-predictions-of-disaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/dont-give-thought-to-psychic-predictions-of-disaster\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t give thought to &#8220;psychic predictions&#8221; of disaster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday, after I&#8217;d written wrote about <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=2189\" target=\"_blank\">Endless loops of windows and popups, cleaning up your crap<\/a>, I awoke Thursday to find my internet connection was down.\u00a0 You can read about it at <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=2302\" target=\"_blank\">Getting Disconnected From Source<\/a>.\u00a0 Before I discovered the problem, I just thought I was having trouble getting AOL email to open.\u00a0 So as I was laboriously downloading pages from my (unknown to me) precarious connection, I filled the time by checking messages and returning calls.\u00a0 A <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\" target=\"_blank\">Horizons<\/a> reader called to share a concern that I\u2019d gotten several emails and other calls about.\u00a0 It seems that they\u2019ve heard some psychics make predictions about assassination attempts and another depression coming our way.\u00a0 Why would I even repeat these words to you?\u00a0 Because what people are saying to each other behind closed doors is one way mass consciousness is attracting the world situation as it is right now.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t fall into it and don&#8217;t buy into it, and it won&#8217;t happen. Period.\u00a0 And don&#8217;t believe any &#8220;psychics&#8221; that predict disasters.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are psychics that are authentic and well meaning, yet his vision may be clouded on those topics since those events would personally impact him as well.\u00a0 As an authentic psychic, I know that I am not always able to see clearly what&#8217;s ahead for me.\u00a0 Experience has taught me that anything that has an emotional component for me, puts a filter over the scene I see.\u00a0 And knowing that helps me see more clearly, and to always question what I see.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, I know that what I say to someone in a reading carries great weight with them.\u00a0 I know how powerful words are, so I choose them wisely and use them with intention.\u00a0 A big part of being a good psychic is knowing that the client is mentally, emotionally and psychologically prepared to handle what I am about to tell them.\u00a0\u00a0 I don&#8217;t say something that inflames them or that causes them anguish.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t withhold anything, but I have learned how to properly set the stage for what I am about to tell them.\u00a0 So when they hear it, they have some advance perception of how to receive it.\u00a0 You&#8217;ve given them a bowl to contain the idea in, a\u00a0 bowl for the idea to brew in like a good soup, because out of this soup they will draw their ideas for how to handle what is coming up for them.\u00a0 That&#8217;s actually the more important part of the reading.\u00a0 Anyone can grab a raw visual out of the ethers.\u00a0 But if you can&#8217;t frame it, don&#8217;t deliver the message.<\/p>\n<p>So as far as being freaked out over psychic predictions of <em>economic depression<\/em>, and the idea of <em>spiritual warfare<\/em> and thinking <em>the corrupt aspects of our world need to be done away with<\/em>, that simply gives power and life to those thoughtforms.\u00a0 I\u2019m mentioning it because those statements about financial collapse and our President\u2019s safety have some of my callers scared almost into disability, so I want to address it openly.<\/p>\n<p>One caller said to me that even mentioning words like assassination and depression plants the idea in the minds of people.\u00a0 She said it would be like someone walking into a classroom of mothers with their infants, except this mother\u2019s infant has its arm ripped off and it\u2019s squirting blood and he\u2019s screaming and the Mother is telling the others:\u00a0 \u201c<em>This does not have to be your experience.\u00a0 You can create a different reality.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not so easy to do, is it, when you\u2019ve had such a strong image splashed in your face, with the attendant sound and emotions?\u00a0 \u201c<em>This doesn\u2019t have to be your experience<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 And yet it\u2019s more likely to be their experience NOW than before she walked into their class.<\/p>\n<p>Because now they\u2019ve had a taste of it.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s been brought to their attention that something they never thought about is a real possibility. Now they think, maybe for the first time, &#8220;<em>this might happen to me<\/em>.&#8221;\u00a0 Now they have something startling to recall vividly and consider over and over again as possibly their future experience.\u00a0 No matter what she said afterward.\u00a0 <em>Kind of like telling the jury to disregard a statement <\/em>they heard the witness make.\u00a0 They now give greater importance to the statement than they may have otherwise.\u00a0 They are certainly not going to disregard it, because now it is prominent in their mind.\u00a0 She&#8217;s highlighted it for them.<\/p>\n<p>And whatever we hold in our mind the most &#8211; with emotion &#8211; plays the biggest part in attracting our future experiences to us.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever we replay over and over and over again, with emotion, we attract the vibrational equivalent of.\u00a0 And it\u2019s because I know this that I print the most hopeful scenarios in Horizons.\u00a0 Because my experience has been that the longer someone can stay focused on the good things happening in the world, the quicker they will stop seeing the scary sides of everything and fighting against evil and what not.\u00a0\u00a0 If they look for the good, they\u2019ll see it.<\/p>\n<p>We see what we look for.\u00a0 By now I suppose almost everyone has seen the basketball video\u00a0 &#8211; you need to press the PLAY &gt; near the bottom left.\u00a0 Now count the number of times the people wearing white shirts pass the basketball. DO NOT count the number of passes from people wearing black shirts.\u00a0 Ok, remember, count ONLY the number of passes from the WHITE shirts.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/viscog.beckman.illinois.edu\/flashmovie\/15.php\" target=\"_blank\">Here&#8217;s the video<\/a>, then come back here.\u00a0 Ok, got your number?<\/p>\n<p>Now replay it and count the number of passes from the people wearing black shirts.\u00a0 How many do you see?\u00a0 Is it a trick question because you see half a pass and are not sure whether to count it?\u00a0 Did you see anything else?\u00a0 This video is an excellent example that we get see what we are programmed to see.\u00a0 We see what we are looking for.\u00a0 The news tells us to look for terrorists and we think we see them everywhere.\u00a0 Spirit tells us to look for evidence of miracles, and miracles begin to surround us.\u00a0 It&#8217;s your choice what to look for. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viscog.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Viscog Productions<\/a> produces DVDs that reveal the surprising limits of perception, attention, and awareness. Look for the DVD called <em>Surprising Studies of Visual Awareness, Vol. 1.<\/em> This year, Viscog released <em>Surprising Studies, Vol. 2,<\/em> with more &#8220;striking demonstrations that can induce failures of awareness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So science knows we see what we choose to see, what we&#8217;ve been taught to look for.<\/p>\n<p><em>But who wants to see only the good?\u00a0 Why not see the \u201ctruth\u201d?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I agree, murder exists as a \u201ctruth,\u201d however it\u2019s not my truth right here, right now in front of me today.\u00a0 So in that sense, murder is not a truth because it\u2019s not my truth.\u00a0 However, experience tells me that if I focus on the topic of murder or corruption or anything else, I will always find evidence of what I\u2019m looking for.<\/p>\n<p><em>But you can\u2019t deny it exists,<\/em> you might say.\u00a0 Well, yes I can, if it\u2019s not happening in front of me.\u00a0 It\u2019s not mine to do unless it\u2019s right in front of me.\u00a0 And there\u2019s plenty for me to do right in front of me, I don\u2019t need to go halfway around the world to do good or find a solution for a problem.<\/p>\n<p>However, experience tells me that if I focus on the topic of murder or corruption or anything else, I will always find evidence of what I\u2019m looking for.\u00a0 So I have learned to NOT seek what I\u2019m not ready to find and to stay off topics that I don\u2019t want to experience.<\/p>\n<p>To the people who are outraged against anything, or who are activists <em>fighting for their cause<\/em>, I understand your dilemma.\u00a0 Maybe you feel it\u2019s your job and your work, and you\u2019re allowed to think that.\u00a0 I\u2019m lazy and my experience tells me if I stay off those topics, I stay somehow magically out of any problems anyone else around me is having.<\/p>\n<p>And if I am out of those problems, then I can keep a higher perspective\u00a0 that lets me do what is mine to do, free from encumbrance.\u00a0 If I can keep myself from being drawn into anyone else\u2019s chain of pain, then my experience does not have to be what theirs is, and I have something to give them.\u00a0 Otherwise I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p><em>Why are we looking anyway at things that are not ours to do?<\/em> It doesn\u2019t matter why.\u00a0 You can analyze it for ages.\u00a0 Analyzing it keeps you vibing in the place of it.\u00a0 Conjecturing about it and discussing it simply keeps you in vibrational resonance with it. As does of course watching any news about it.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s just another metaphor for feeling lost and feeling disconnected.\u00a0\u00a0 Like yesterday morning when my internet connection went down.\u00a0 We get all freaked out thinking we\u2019re losing connection but that\u2019s just because we\u2019re paying attention to those things that we don\u2019t want.\u00a0 It makes us feel bad and makes us attract more thoughts of more bad stuff and it\u2019s a downward spiral from there.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, even a lot of you\u00a0 who read about Law Of Attraction are doing it.\u00a0 I do it sometimes.\u00a0 So just think how hard it is for those who don\u2019t know how\u00a0 they are attracting things to themselves and how to attract anything different than they\u2019re getting.<\/p>\n<p>I have friends who have gone into survivalist mode, preparing for the worst, stocking up.\u00a0 I agree we should be prepared, but not have a Thunderdome type mentality about it.<\/p>\n<p>Because even in preparing for the worst case scenario, you are attracting it as sure as the hero attracts the victim he rescues.\u00a0 While in the mode of research and preparation, they are vibrating in that place with it.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when it becomes important to know whether you are researching from a point of view of \u201c<em>OMG the end is near, WTF am I going to do????\u00a0 Let me find out what every other scared rabbit is doing<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Or from a point of view of \u201c<em>It would be very cool to be self contained and do a living-off-the-land kind of project, to let myself discover just how creatively capable I can be<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just know where you\u2019re vibing when you\u2019re doing any research or talk about it.\u00a0 Don\u2019t do it from a place of fear.\u00a0 I think of it as, \u201c<em>If I went on a 3-6 month personal wilderness retreat, what all should I have with me?<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 A wilderness is a wilderness, no matter whether a jungle or a metaphor for an internal, subjective, inward turning of attention on purpose.\u00a0 You can be a monk or you can be a prisoner, either way you are trapped in a cell, but the monk is free because his mind knows freedom beyond the physical body.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michellewhitedove.com\" target=\"_blank\">Michelle Whitedove <\/a>says &#8211; and I am in complete agreement with her &#8211; to <em>remember how powerful you are and that it\u2019s up to you to create your personal future and that your reality can be a different experience from those around you.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A friend said, &#8220;The challenge is to stay connected when the sh*t hits the Fan.&#8221;\u00a0 Someone had taken a sledgehammer to her glass sliding doors, stole money and jewelry. &#8220;How do I stay connected then?&#8221; she wanted to know.<\/p>\n<p>I agree that it&#8217;s a challenge to stay connected when\u00a0 the sh*t hits the fan.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em>That&#8217;s why prepaving and creative visualization are the most important elements to using law of attraction to your advantage.<\/em> <\/span> As soon as you stop doing things that incur more karmic backlash, the quicker the momentum of your past sh*t stops flying at you.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em>So the answer to staying connected when the sh*t is hitting the fan is simply expecting the best possible outcome, no matter what.\u00a0 And start expecting it so far in advance that by the time the sh*t approaches the fan, you&#8217;ve left the building. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">And you&#8217;re no longer in a place that attracts the sh*t, that attracts the sledgehammer, that attracts the burglary.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Also, strive to develop some faith that you will be led to your next step.\u00a0 Remember that you don\u2019t need to know the whole way you\u2019re going or where you\u2019ll end up.\u00a0 Just take the next step.\u00a0 Like they say, easy does it.\u00a0 One day at a time.\u00a0 All your power is in The Now Moment.<\/p>\n<p>Develop some trust that you will be given many opportunities.\u00a0 If one is missed, another will come.\u00a0 You never run out of them.\u00a0 Expect that guidance can come to you from all corners of the Universe.\u00a0 Expect that when those you love are having a hard time, you will be given the strength to find comfort in what is right there, right then.<\/p>\n<p>Expect that it can come out of nowhere.\u00a0 Expect that it can come from a source you never even considered.\u00a0 Expect the unexpected.\u00a0 Expect the miracle.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;
