A surprise angel today<\/p><\/div>\n

I was in WalMart this morning when I encountered an angel in the checkout line ahead of me. \u00a0She appeared my age and was in one of those electric shopping carts. \u00a0I could tell by her size and body \u00a0movements that she had a condition that limited her mobility. \u00a0She was using WIC <\/a> for her food items and also buying bleach, roach killer and insect bombs. \u00a0She appeared tired and older than her age. \u00a0As her grocery total grew, she had the cashier suddenly stop. \u00a0She had several essential food items not yet paid for. \u00a0I quickly saw the dilemma, her WIC paid for food but she right now needed some pest control, paid for out of her own money. \u00a0Which it was evident she did not have much of. \u00a0I told her it would be my honor to pay the $4.90 for her additional items. \u00a0She was surprised and grateful and said a little prayer for me. She reached into her wallet to pay the cashier and she’s $5.75 short. \u00a0That’s my house number, so I knew it was a signal. \u00a0“If I may,” I said as I handed the cashier $6. \u00a0“Yay, I get an extra blessing today.”<\/p>\n

She reached out and took my hand and we closed eyes as she said a wonderful quick and long prayer of gratitude and blessing. \u00a0She apologized to the people behind us in line for holding them up. \u00a0I didn’t even know they were there. \u00a0When she left, the cashier told me I sure earned a big blessing today, that she had never seen someone do that for a stranger.<\/p>\n

I told her I was the blessed one, to be given the opportunity right in front of me to help out someone, to not have to go looking for someone to help, to have it fall right in my lap, how can I not respond with gratitude for that?? \u00a0I was the blessed one.<\/p>\n

The Universe knows I want to \u00a0be of service and also knows this is Saturday and I want to finish my work and have some fun, so He hurried it up for me. \u00a0As I see it, for the cost of just $10.65, I got a glimpse of “there but for the grace of God go I.” \u00a0We were about the same age. \u00a0She was clearly overweight, she had health issues, low income and needed some serious pest control. \u00a0I have so much. \u00a0When I realize how much I have, it’s crazy not to share. \u00a0I am so blessed. \u00a0I am so blessed.<\/p>\n
