{"id":17886,"date":"2012-01-08T03:35:48","date_gmt":"2012-01-08T08:35:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=17886"},"modified":"2017-01-05T02:34:17","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T07:34:17","slug":"law-of-attraction-works-even-when-you-think-the-wrong-thoughts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/law-of-attraction-works-even-when-you-think-the-wrong-thoughts\/","title":{"rendered":"Law of Attraction works even when you think the &#8220;wrong&#8221; thoughts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got an email last week on the topic that I get the most inquiries about: \u00a0<em>Law of Attraction &#8212; why am I getting what I&#8217;m getting and how do I attract what I want instead? <\/em>The answer is simple but may take some fine tuning until you really understand what you&#8217;re doing and why. \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?page_id=3378\">Domino writes:<\/a> I live in San Diego. \u00a0I am trying to use the law of attraction to get men to stop approaching me for sex. \u00a0 I say affirmations several times a day: \u00a0&#8220;<em>I am left alone when I am walking. I am left alone when I go shopping. It&#8217;s easy to say no. My boundaries are respected. Men have clean thoughts about me<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?page_id=11836\">Andrea responded<\/a>: \u00a0Domino, with all due respect, these particular affirmations will not help you attract what you think you are attracting (or not.) \u00a0The thing most people get wrong about law of attraction is not being clear on what they are thinking and thus attracting. \u00a0With the above 5 sentences, the topic is clearly <em>&#8220;I want to avoid being attacked.<\/em>&#8221; \u00a0The focus is &#8220;<em>walking alone, men overstepping boundaries due to their unclean thoughts<\/em>.&#8221; \u00a0So just be aware that right now you&#8217;re a magnet for that. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Some more helpful statements might be:<br \/>\nI am a powerful person and I exude confidence.<br \/>\nI have the power to handle myself in all situations.<br \/>\nI attract pleasant and delightful circumstances and people to me.<br \/>\nI look for the good in everything and everyone I see.<br \/>\nPeople are kind and helpful and generous with me.<\/p>\n<p>When you hold these thoughts, when you vibe in this place, you are nowhere near the other place, the place where the first 5 affirmations will hold you. \u00a0So there&#8217;s no need to focus there. \u00a0You can feel the difference in the statements. \u00a0The difference in how you feel as you say them, the amount of lightness and security you feel, is also your indication of the vibrational difference in what you&#8217;ll attract.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like when someone gives a hypnotic suggestion, &#8220;You will not smoke. \u00a0You don&#8217;t want to smoke. You will stop smoking.&#8221; \u00a0That is never successful because the focus is still &#8220;smoking.&#8221; \u00a0A more successful smoking suggestion would be &#8220;It feels good to make the decision to stop smoking for now. \u00a0It feels good to breathe in the fresh air. \u00a0I love the way things smell and taste so good now. \u00a0It feels good to exercise and take strong, deep breaths. \u00a0It feels good to walk around the block every day and swing my arms in rhythm like winding an inner clock. \u00a0It feels so good to breathe in the fresh air.&#8221; \u00a0 \u00a0The topic here is &#8220;feel good, breathe.&#8221; \u00a0Your subconsious will do all the work for you with suggestions like this. \u00a0A gentle and subtle redirection of focus plus replacement activity = success.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just \u00a0matter of getting the terminology right for the words and phrases you are going to program yourself with. \u00a0I do this kind of work all the time in my hypnosis practice<a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/CD_Page\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a>and I get a lot of feedback about what works and what doesn&#8217;t. \u00a0 \u00a0If you like, feel free to use the search box at my blog to search &#8220;law of attraction&#8221; as I&#8217;ve written on it a lot and I&#8217;m glad to help.<\/p>\n<p>And, last but not least, remember that <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=4217\">it&#8217;s all related,<\/a> everything. \u00a0If you have resistance &#8212;
