{"id":17561,"date":"2011-12-10T17:28:44","date_gmt":"2011-12-10T22:28:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=17561"},"modified":"2016-10-15T14:07:50","modified_gmt":"2016-10-15T19:07:50","slug":"how-psychometry-works-for-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/how-psychometry-works-for-me\/","title":{"rendered":"How psychometry works for me"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_17569\" style=\"width: 118px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17569\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17569\" title=\"keys in hand\" src=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/keys-in-hand.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"108\" height=\"144\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-17569\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><center>What do these keys tell you?<\/center><\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A friend returned a drum yesterday and asked me if drumming helped or hurt my<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=10194\"> carpal tunnel <\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">when I was having a flareup. \u00a0I told her I didn&#8217;t know if\u00a0drumming aggravated it. \u00a0I was more afraid to lose sensitivity in my fingers since that\u2019s<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/sessions-with-andrea-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">how I read<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">photographs and physical items. \u00a0 It may be that I think it\u2019s important to have the skin on my fingers be uncalloused, when it\u2019s not important at all &#8212; but if I have the belief it matters, then it will matter. \u00a0 I\u2019m working on it, \u00a0I can surprise myself too when I don\u2019t expect it. \u00a0 Once after the car accident of September 2000 when both hands and arms were in splints up to the elbow, someone put their sweater over the splint (for me to hold it for her) and &#8212; surprise &#8212; I totally read it, no problem.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">HOW THAT HAPPENS<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Here is how it happens so that you\u2019ll know it when it happens to you. The best case scenario:<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(1) someone asks me for info and\u00a0hands me an object to be read and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (2) I agree to read it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Often, they may hand me something with no warning, intent or consent.<br \/>\n<strong><em>Benefit:<\/em><\/strong> element of surprise.<br \/>\n<strong><em>Detriment:<\/em><\/strong> if you offend me by pushing it into my hands, my emotions are momentarily involved and if I\u2019m swimming in that sea, it\u2019s like reading a faraway billboard underwater, everything is all distorted and wavy and moving and light flashing back and forth, constantly changing. It\u2019s not like on tv where I get the sudden rush of info and feel compelled to give all the details. I no longer feel compelled to voice very impression I get. I long ago learned to control that impulse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I mean, if they surprise me, it still works, but there may be an immediate filter up, distorting what I get. What the sweater is saying, the arm is hearing a distorted version of it, like the telephone game: what the sweater said is not what the arm heard. These filters are removed when you give a moment\u2019s notice and intend\/want to receive clear info and I say a quick prayer, mine are something like \u2018Heavenly Father\/Mother\/God, bless this union of us together here for your purpose, let me give them what they want, spoken or spoken, let me clearly hear Your voice and see what You\u2019d have me see and speak what You\u2019d have me speak. Amen. Hari Om.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I do that in my head silently, quickly. It acts as kind of a point of connection, it\u2019s like setting the destination on the GPS system in the car.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>When they ask and want, their desire to know acts as fuel in the car to get us there.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\">Me wanting to be of service and value is the lubrication that makes it easy to get where we want to go.<\/span><br \/>\nCombined, it\u2019s a remedy for success:<br \/>\n(1) ask for the reading,<br \/>\n(2) lemme agree,<br \/>\n(3) hand me your object.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><em>Anyway, so I\u2019m telling you how it works, how the info from a touched object comes to me, psychometry they call it. When I touch it, I may get flooded with info or I may take a moment to breathe it in and mentally, silently ask it what it has to tell me. \u00a0I ask for it in order of importance, unless the patron\/client\/sitter has a specific question they want answered.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>Spidey sense tip: <em>Talk to everything in your head, it all communicates, it\u2019s good practice, soon enough it will all begin to talk back.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Anyhow, as the thoughts come, I have a choice of which thoughts to follow. Like when the patron wants to know specifically about her marriage and my predominant pickup from the nonphysical vibration is about <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/horizonsmagazine.com\/blog\/?p=16953\">her obstructed colon<\/a>. \u00a0Ok, in that one, she set the unspoken intent for info on that topic, and I could have easily not even verbalized to her the impression I was getting since it was \u201coff-topic.\u201d However, I was having weird digestive feelings when I hadn\u2019t eaten anything that could have bothered me. In the interest of resolving my own pain, I verbalized it to her, knowing that if it belonged to her, the pain would leave me once I verbalized it (to the right person) or once realized it, if it belonged to me.
