good feng shui!

Just then UPS delivered my new protective mattress cover, so I installed it and put my egg crate foam mattress pad atop it. I remade the bed and tried it out. Ahhhh, soft but firm fluffiness. But no time for a nap now. I was doing final layout on the August Horizons Magazine, but kept taking breaks to work on the bedroom. I found a decorative wall mirror to fill the empty space on the wall above the bed. I moved the wind chimes away from over the bed. I hung a chime at the door, to soften the chi for the burglar bars. The room was feeling better and better.

Then, I knew I had to tackle it. On the west wall of my room is my art area, a bench where I can keep my art supplies set up: sketch pads, erasers, pencils, watercolors, brushes, table easels and paintings in progress. Over the past several months, I’ve piled a thin layer of fabric, patterns and other sewing debris on top of the bench. I went out to the Shed That Always Magically Has Everything and found 2 clear plastic bins the perfect size. I cleared the sewing gear off and packed it in its own bin, and placed it underneath the bench. I packed my paints and sketch gear in their own bins and placed it atop the other bin. Perfect fit, and white to match the room accents. With the art bench being cleared off for the first time in months, the room felt once again in order and at peace.

I keep blackout curtains in the bedroom, and they used to stay up, behind the heavy velvet drapes. Now that I have the sheers, I created a place to keep the blackouts easily accessible. I use them mostly when I am going to bed about dawn and want to stay in the darkness for maximum melatonin production since that gives the best sleep.

I’m sure I’ll be moving things around again but, for now, it feels good. And I’m all about how it feels. That’s the big secret in life, you know, that we’re guided by how we feel in the moment. If it feels good in the moment, if it feels right — given your higher intentions — then you’re on the right path and on your way to it.

I feel like I’ve been a little stagnant and am now in the flow again. It feels good, this floating downstream like a cork on the surface. Let’s see what fun adventure I’m on my way toward. I’ll keep you posted.

Andrea

RELATED: I bought my new bed yesterday

After I bought my new bed last week, I took a few days to redo my bedroom for the first time in several years. I took down the heavy royal blue velvet drapes from the sliding glass door, and replaced them with navy sheers and a blue and yellow silken sari draped overhead at the curtain […]

["post-15796","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry
["GET
