I spent Sunday alternately working on final layout of the the August issue of Horizons<\/a>, and moving furniture around. \u00a0I’d read at a few feng shui websites to learn the\u00a0beneficial \u00a0placements for a bed after I bought my new bed last week<\/a>. \u00a0The first thing I learned was that I needed a headboard. \u00a0The past 10 years, my giant king bed had been positioned\u00a0in the corner, with a dozen pillows arranged like a large settee. \u00a0I was glad to downsize to a double bed. \u00a0And since the head of the bed would be angled at a corner, I clearly needed a headboard.<\/p>\n

I painted it white<\/p><\/div>\n

I remembered I had a brass headboard in the shed and I went out to measure it. \u00a0I’d had it since the mid 80’s. \u00a0I don’t even think I’d ever used it. \u00a0I wasn’t surprised it was the exact size I needed. \u00a0I had several cans of white paint, so I cleaned it up and throughout the afternoon gave it several coats of paint. \u00a0When it’s dry. \u00a0I’ll attach it to the bedframe.<\/p>\n

I also saw that I had an extra bed frame given to me by my friend Joy a year ago, and I measured to see what size it was. \u00a0A single! \u00a0The same size as my living room futon. \u00a0I decided to move the heavy wooden futon base out to the shed, since I regularly banged my ankles on it. \u00a0I\u00a0set up a daybed atop the frame, with lots of room underneath for the chi to flow. \u00a0 I wasn’t surprised to find it was the exact size I needed.<\/p>\n

In fact, I’ll need four nuts and bolts measuring 3-4″ long to attach it to the bedframe and it’s my guess I have those here as well.<\/p>\n
