A Meditation To Meet with Your Spiritual Guide: To Be Shown The Next Step

Q:  How can you do creative visualization if you don’t know what you want to create?
A:  You don’t need to see yourself doing anything specific except laughing, feeling happy, being with people you pour love out onto and feel love being poured back in to you.  You don’t need to know who those people will be but you can remember the feeling you felt before, that infatuated all engulfing loving exchange, and use that thought repeated over and over in your mind, to fuel the attraction of the new people and circumstances to you. You don’t have to know what the job will be, you just have to imagine what it would feel like to be somewhere where you’ve found your niche, where people loved and respected you, appreciated your work, found you very inspiring and a meaningful part of the business and everyone made plenty of money and had a blast.

Just think those thoughts, actually copy and paste that paragraph into a separate file and keep it and read it over a few times a day. You will start adding to it specific things you’d like to spend time visualizing ahead of time.   For example, like finding your niche.    Maybe begin your visualization in the form of a self guided meditation:

A Meditation To Meet with Your Spiritual Guide

You begin with some deep breaths, and you find yourself walking along a garden path.  There are beautiful blossoms everywhere and on your right is a body of water.  The stone path follows alongside the water’s edge and it curves along beautiful blooming plants and tall colorful grasses.  Across the water against the deep blue of the sky, you can see a gazebo and you realize that is your destination.  You are following the winding path to the gazebo, where you will meet with your spiritual guide.

As you walk slowly along the path gazing from the gardens to the gazebo, you ponder the question you would like answered on this visit.  “What is my path?  What am I meant to do?  How do I discover that?”  What you’re really asking is, “Relative to this particular topic: (choose just one at a time), what is my next step?”   As you walk along, your mind begins to repeat inside itself, “Next step; next step; tell me, show me, my next step.  Tell me, show me, my next step.”

By the time you reach the gazebo, you are fully focused on asking to be shown your next step.  As you approach the entrance, inside you see sitting a figure, draped in a soft hooded garment, silhouetted against the sun.  With a hand gesture, you are invited to come in and be seated.  You realize you are communicating mind to mind, thought to thought.  “I know why you are here.  Ask me your question and listen closely to what you hear in response.  You may think some of these thoughts are coming from your own mind, but I will be speaking to you as well.  Listen carefully and have a notebook nearby to write in.  As you begin to write, do not edit or think too much about it, just let the words flow out onto the paper.  After you leave here, you can later read the paper and contemplate what I have said to you.”

That being said, you sit in silence for awhile, just listening, breathing, enjoying sitting in the silence in the presence of this wise holy being.  You make notes as you feel guided to.  “What is a next step for me?”  You know more notes will follow the more often you visit the gazebo.  After several minutes, it is time to go and you begin walking the garden path back together.  You feel the presence and you know some kind of energy or shaki has been transmitted to you.  You can almost walk this garden path with your eyes closed, you can so feel the energy of the path, of the garden and of your guide.  As you exit the garden, you turn to say goodbye and find you are alone once again.  However, now you realize you were never alone in the first place, and will never be alone again.  You realize you only need to ask to be shown the next step.  You only need to visualize yourself feeling happy, doing meaningful work and being with loved ones.
