What a day, on the phone for two hours trying to find someone in the Volusia County Legal Dept’s office to tell me whether my Volusia property is slated for eminent domain.  I started by calling the Property Appraiser who referred me to the State Attorney who referred me to land records who referred me to tax deeds who… you get the drift.  It’s part of a debacle known as Cape Atlantic Estates, just east of I-95 at mile marker 232 I think it is, north of Oak Hill and immediately north of Mayfield Road.  I have two parcels, 2.5 acres each.  The property is not doing anything so the value is not going up.  I’d rather hold on to it since I don’t mind waiting another 20-30 years to become rich off it, than just be given $7,000 because they are putting an exit on my land.

I made a great tuna salad for lunch. First I chopped up like 1/3 cup each of celery, sweet vidalia onion, carrot, radish, and blobbed in some albacore tuna and some Vegannaise, and 1/2 tsp tarragon, and it was great!  For the other half of it, I will add more chopped onion and celery and radish and maybe a splash of apple cider vinegar or just lemon.  It could use some tang.  I am out of capers, that would have been nice – oh!  Also I had added a tablespoon each of dried tomato and raisins soaked in hot water.  I would add more dried tomato to the next batch also.

I’m doing this new thing where I am making myself aware of my muscles and what each muscle gets used for.  So I am thinking of more things to do to be up and active so I can practice it.  That’s one reason for me doing the cleaning and yard myself.  Plus I’m trying to psych myself up to want to do it.  I know some chicks just love to clean.  I wish I was one of them.

So now I like to have chopped salads, so I can get in a lot of muscle watching practice the more things I have to chop.  Plus I like the crunch and texture of them.  So I’ve also been chopping cucumbers and zucchini and bell peppers and romaine and spinach and grape tomatoes.  My colon loves me.

I eat broccoli and cauliflower a lot but like it by itself as a hot vegetable steamed like 2 minutes and then a blob of Earth Balance vegan spread and a couple of chopped garlic cloves.  Although broccoli stalks chopped into a salad with raisins and red onion and sunflower seeds and some sugary mayo and vinegar is a fave salad I like.

Today I put some cuttings of the turk’s cap around the back porch, planting them a foot farther away from the screen wall.

I went to Wuesthoff Reference Labs for a blood test. I am doing fine I think, just checking because I have eaten chicken every single day for about 2 weeks, and ranch dressing 3 times in the last 2 weeks. And have taken to using a tablespoon or more of Earth Balance on something every day.

I’m glad to see my muscles are not sore from all of yesterday’s yard work. Even though I was working hard and getting red and out of breath, I have been exercising my arms and using the 8 lbs weights each day for some 25 reps each of several sets of several exercises.

I just realized that I always thought the monthly job of updating the mailing labels, printing them out, doing the label count, counting the envelopes, putting postage in the meter and putting in the car the box of postage meter, postage scale, postage strips, ink, paperclips, sheet of mailing rates by zone, was all just a maybe 2 hour job. Today I realize it is an all day job, so no more rushing at the last minute Thursday night to get it done so I can walk out the door Friday morning and it’s all in the car.

So this morning I sat down to do it before they deliver the mag tomorrow, and I even printed out the subscriptions ahead of time. I am so glad I figured out the mailing and labels and postage thang, I had no idea it was such a big job and took so long, no wonder I was always freaking out the night before.
