I cooked penne pasta tonight, while it was cooking I sauteed some chopped fresh mushrooms in Pam spray with olive oil and also 4 scallions and some chopped fresh tomatoes from Danny’s garden.  I also put pepper (I use salt only AFTER it’s cooked so it doesn’t make the veggies watery) and garlic powder like a teaspoon (I use a lot of garlic powder, I sprinkle it on everything, it helps keep your arteries open) and some basil and oregano also.  Oh, also a squirt of lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar since the tomatoes were very acidic.  While the pasta was draining, I put a teaspoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of my fake butter Earth Balance in with the mushrooms and threw in the penne, and let it all saute for about 3 more minutes as I mixed it around.  It was really good.

New Kitty was last seen in the east yard about 7pm when the other kitties were coming back inside as I stood at my bedroom’s sliding glass door hlding it open for them.  He won’t let me catch him when he’s outside, he tiptoe runs about 10 feet ahead of me.  I wish he’d come home.  I napped on the couch for a couple of hours and thought when I woke up he’d be inside, but he wasn’t.  I won’t put him out again, unless he starts using the emergency litter box.  He didn’t want to go out this morning, he wanted to stay on the bed.

Later  New Kitty came back. He is just finding his place in the family. He was Danny’s mom’s cat, then she died in 2005 then he was Danny’s cat til I got him so he is feeling maybe like an orphan not knowing where he belongs.  Kind of like Danny might have felt growing up!  He and his mom lived with different families and she would leave him for months at a time sometimes when she was working, this mostly before we met them.  He was like 16 when we got them.  Funny, he grew up being the babysitter/housekeeper’s kid and he left an estate worth over a million.  His mom’s Little house in Hialeah sold for $274,000 in 2005.  You’ve got to love this American life.
