SEPTEMBER 1998
This has been some hot summer, huh? It's good to see that even the areas in Florida that Mother Nature thought needed a little toasting and clearing are now giving forth green shoots of new growth. At the end of June, I packed up and took a solo 3 week trip in my Kia Sportage first to Santa Fe, and Taos, New Mexico, then through Sedona, Arizona and then to Carlsbad, California - home of Louise Hay's Hay House Publishing - and Encinitas, California, where I visited some friends, met new friends, and spent a few quality days meandering through Paramahansa Yogananda's meditation gardens at the Self Realization Institute in Encinitas. It is a lovely place, on a cliff, overlooking the Pacific ocean and it was where Yogananda wrote Autobiography of a Yogi. It was very inspiring and only 10 minutes from where I stayed in Carlsbad for ten days. I'll tell you all about my trip in the months to come, but I'm anxious for you to read the great articles we've got in this issue.
I'm refreshed after my trip, I think it's important to take time out and get away from everything familiar every so often. It lets us see all the areas of our lives from a more objective stance. Sometimes we get stuck in the bell jar and don't know it until we're out of it. Getting away, especially getting out in nature, gives our mind the space it needs to sort itself out.
I want to say a big thanks to America Online for having a series of my articles in their New Age forum in their CBStar Online Magazine, and each month an article of mine is featured under "Body & Spirit." I've gotten great feedback and appreciate the honor of being featured in their forum, which reaches millions worldwide.
I had fun last month being interviewed by Georgia Shakti-Hill for her Living In Balance On Shakti Hill program which currently airs six days a week on the Wisdom Channel. Georgia was a delight to meet and in future issues we'll be keeping you up to date with her program schedule. She's done interviews with every inspirational speaker and author imaginable and we look forward to her input.
Without further ado, I present our September issue, and I wish you all the love your heart can hold, and blessings in abundance. Hari Om.
