How I set myself up. The Money Order Lesson. Identifying unwanted lessons.
Pondering my list. Activating the inner cheerleader.

Hello and welcome to the January 2006 issue of Horizons Magazine. Are you loving the
freezie weather we're having? It makes me want to run out and climb trees and scamper
around in the woods. Well, that's what it makes me WANT to do, but what I HAVE been
mostly doing is scripting and recording a new audio series. My brother Jerry has been adding the background and subliminals in for me and teaching me how to use my software programs to edit the recordings and create my own cds. What fun! Of course it wasn't easy at first but I got the hang of it after about 30 tries and now it's easy.

I love it when I can learn something new that opens an entirely new field of possibilities for me. It lets me see myself in a new way and broadens my perception about who I am and what I am capable of. In that vein, Abraham-Hicks has a new book out The Amazing Power Of Deliberate Intention by Jerry & Esther Hicks. Hayhouse has a contest giveaway going on (see page 34) and 5 lucky winners will receive a copy of the new book. Be sure to enter!

Since I spent so much time this month on the audio series, I didn't write an editorial BUT as always happens on the last day, I had a great email question come in that I'll share with you. This was a great reminder for me also, to remember what I know and to put it into practice.

Question: What I want to know is: what might I be doing/thinking/feeling to attract the behaviors in other people that I get repeatedly in my life, such as no-shows, broken commitments, non-returned phone calls, unreliable people, even getting threatened and cussed out! My word is good, and I don't make commitments that I cannot keep, so I'm not aware of anything I might be doing to attract this. Thank you in advance, Madeline in Miami.

Andrea: One thing you might consider is that even though YOU don't do those things, you might be NOTICING and bringing to mind when that has happened in the past, and you might even be unconsciously anticipating it happening with certain new people.

Personal story: I've been a fairly happy person with no problems or drama in my life for the last dozen years. I never had a problem with clients calling on time for a psychic reading until a couple of years ago. When a phone reading wants to pay by check, I have them send it to me ahead of time, so by the time we have the reading, the check is in my hand and I don't deposit it until after the call.

A few years ago, I received my first money order for a reading and I mused for a moment that I never received a money order before. I wondered briefly why someone would not have a checking account. My assistant at that time said her sister with no checking account always paid bills by money order. Then she went into how unreliable and problematic her sister was. There was lots of emotion attached to her story about how the sister never did anything on time, if she remembered at all. I was for a few minutes pulled into her story with her.

Then I thought no further about it and noted on my appointment book that the client had paid and I waited for the call at the designated time. And waited. And waited. I did not have her phone number so I couldn't call her. An hour later I remembered that I knew someone who might have her number and I called, and she had completely forgotten our appointment.

Then every few months I began receiving money order payments from new clients and, you guessed it, none of them remembered to call for their appointments. It was a year later that I stopped to consider and realized how I was attracting that: Each time I received a money order, my memory of my past experience with the first money order client would repeat itself. Even though I thought that experience was out of my consciousness. I would see the money order and sub-consciously anticipate they were unreliable and may no-show. I was setting myself up, unconsciously, to have a problem with this client. I had no other problems with clients not paying or no-showing. My income was good, my life was good, this was the only sore thumb and it took a year to realize how I was attracting it.

Now that I had identified an unwanted pattern, I knew I needed to reprogram myself to anticipate a different experience when I received money orders in the future. So I wrote down a few things I knew to be true about the situation, and I took the list and sat with it and pondered the list for about 20 minutes. My sitting and pondering place is NOT in my office, it is either outside in the garden or inside at a favorite rocker with soft music playing and a candle burning.

My list reminded me that however my clients paid me, I was grateful for the business. My list reminded me that each client was a nice person. It reminded me that people can get confused when they feel overwhelmed. People get overwhelmed when they have too much information to process. Or receive too much NEW information when they have not yet integrated the OLD information. They don't have time to process it, since they feel life is coming at them at breakneck speed and they can hardly keep up.

My list reminded me they don't mean to let others down but it happens. They mean well, but haven't yet learned how to manage their personal energy so they can keep on top of things and get their life running smoothly. They mostly just need a reminder that this is a pattern they are stuck in and a few pointers to help move them out of it.

Pondering my list reminded me that I was grateful these people were directed to call me, since I knew a sure fire way to help them solve their problem. Economic translation: I was thankful I had a product to benefit them (I believed in my product). I recognized I had a service to sell them, and my service could meet their need with flying colors. I was excited at how much smoother their life could run if they availed themselves of what I had to offer. I contemplated past clients with similar issues and how much we learned and progressed as a result of our interaction..

I contemplated that in the future, every time I received a money order, I was going to anticipate a client that was ready and eager to partake of my service, who would soak it up like a sponge and we'd both be all the better for it. I wished for them all the clarity of mind that I had in this moment, knowing that confusion clears up as we feel less overwhelmed in our lives, as we begin to pay more attention to our personal thought patterns. When we get a handle on our rambling, speed of light thoughts, then our subconscious mind begins to re-organize our self talk and unconscious behavior to support our intention.

It's like activating the inner cheerleader. My intention was to have a good experience the next time I received a money order, and I knew I could attract that by having an ongoing stream of good anticipatory thoughts relative to that topic. One way I activate these good anticipatory thoughts is through making and pondering lists like this, even if I have to read them over dozens of times until I feel it's beneficial and completely true. I never had a problem with money order clients not calling in on time after that. And the only thing that changed was my perception. The only thing that changed was my level of consciousness relative to that topic. Try that and let me know how YOUR experience changes. Expect a miracle!
### end of Q & A

So, this month I've been reminded of or learned:

1. I love learning new skills, even though I may not love the process that teaches it to me..

2. I can make time for whatever is important to me. When I'm working on something I love doing, time just expands and I have all I need to get it all done.

3. I can become oblivious to things that are right around me that I have stopped noticing. Like when I had to keep re-recording because I could hear squirrels chattering and cars driving in the background if I was outside, or I could hear my cats eating their crunchy dry food or jumping around knocking papers over if I was inside. I didn't notice them at the time but heard it when I reviewed the recordings afterward. One time I tried closing the door to the room I was in and then you could hear them putting their paws under the door and rattling it to get inside, or caterwauling at the window to get in. Too funny!

4. I attract behavior from other people by how I perceive them and how I perceive in general my world around me.

5. I can get my own self out of my own stuff if I can remember I'm in it and do the process for deactivating it.

Enjoy our offering this month. Hari Om.
