Y2k hoax; Feeling connected; We attract those we are in vibrational harmony with

Hello and welcome to the February issue of Horizons Magazine. Ah, love is in the
air, and it has nothing to do with Valentine's Day. I feel with the dawn of the year
2000 so many have decided to let go of things from the past that no longer serve
them, and are coming together like never before. In my own community that is true and I hear others talk about it as well.

The Y2K scare brought so many people together, did you notice? Strangers were talking to each other in store aisles about it, people were discussing their fears out in the open with others. We were reassuring each other that things would ultimately somehow be fine.

Then the clocks clicked from 1999 to 2000 and - nothing happened - and folks were en masse feeling relieved, appreciative, perhaps a little defrauded and silly, but feeling as though they'd come through something together. We felt more bonded to our neighbors and co-workers with a greater sense of the inter-connectedness of us all. We all got a clear reminder not to buy into everything the government and media tells us is so, and we received evidence of a more secure future, knowing that together we can overcome anything.

That's what I'm striving for this year, to feel more connected to everyone and everything around me, to see how we can all work together as a team to achieve anything it is we want to achieve. During daily meditation as I practice the presence of God, I feel enriched, empowered and imbued with glorious contentment and satisfaction on all levels. These daily refills are an important part of my life.

Before I realized that I could draw forth that wonderful feeling from within, I looked outside myself to find it. The less I meditated and contemplated God as the source of all supply, the more I looked to friends and family to fulfill my psychological and emotional needs. I usually sought to fill my cup from a well that itself was drying up, and so all sorts of needy, codependent relationships ensued. Sound like the story of your life? In truth, it's the story of many lives and that's something it seems likely we're all here to learn about together.

What's my point? My point is that I discovered that when I take my primary nourishment from communing with the God of my understanding and seeing God in all people and all situations, then I am filled to overflowing. When I'm filled to overflowing, I need nothing from anyone outside me, and I have plenty to share with others. Needing nothing outside me, I am free to enjoy friends and family as they are - without counting on them to meet any expectation I might have of how they should act or what they should do for me or how they should show they love me. I don't need as many strokes from them if I'm getting my strokes from higher communion.

My greater point perhaps is that we owe it to our loved ones to find a direct Source of fulfillment so that we're not always looking for them to satisfy our emptiness. Two half empty people coming together do not make a whole. Unhappy, lonely, emotionally tormented people find each other over and over, and the tv is full of sitcoms about it. It's evidence of the law of attraction at work and it never fails. We attract those we are in vibrational harmony with.

Be aware that what you're full of oozes out of you onto everyone in your life. Be aware that whatever it is you take in and absorb from whoever you spend the most time with is what you have to share with those around you. One of the most loving gifts you can give your beloved friends this Valentine's Day is a whole and complete You, seeking nothing from them but fun interaction and the joy of their own company. The real, essential You is always the best gift of all.

Enjoy our offering this month. Hari Om.
